Can Nigerians Pay The PRICE Of A New GOVT ? by mekaboy(m): 9:39pm On Mar 20, 2015 |
Can Nigerians pay the price of a new administration? The current situation of Nigeria now is like a plane that has a leakage in the fuel tank while it’s in the air heading to its destination. If this plane is managed, it can get to a fuel station in another country where it can refill and move on. Bringing in a new govt now is like bringing in an inexperienced pilot who will turn off the engine of the plane in the air, hoping to save fuel while the plane floats to its destination. We all know what will happen. For those that don’t know the plane will simply crash and all the passengers might die. I am sure you are thinking those that turned off the engine will die as well. Well you are wrong, they all have their parachutes, ready to jump out of the plane and float to safety. They are all wealthy and have all benefited from corrupt administrations. Many people believe that once corrupt politicians manage to install buhari as president of a democratic govt, corruption will end. That could be true to some extent. But the problem of Nigeria at the moment goes beyond fighting corruption. It requires a lot of experience and planning, which buhari lacks. Don’t see this as an attack on buhari or any party; this is just the honest analysis of what Nigerians should expect. THINGS THAT WILL HAPPEN IF BUHARI WINS 1, the stock market will crash totally as investors will pullout to understand the policies of the new administration. The election panic is already affecting the market negatively. 2, massive looting:- both pdp and apc politicians in power will want to clean out the treasury and destroy evidence. A lot of last minute contracts will be awarded. Since the new govt won’t be sworn in till may 29th, this will give room for looting. I am sure most of you will say, once buhari comes in they will all go to jail. Don’t forget pdp and apc members are all involved and buhari is known to protect his own. You can see this in the case of abacha and bokoharam. Also, this is a democratic govt, buhari can’t jail anyone without the courts convicting them with evidence. 3, exchange rate will skyrocket: - the naira is weakened due to the falling oil prices, as investors pullout their funds, there will be scarcity of foreign currency. A lot of people will save their money in dollars, others will horde the dollars. This will lead to scarcity, a dollar might sell for 3-N400. 4, while they are waiting for may 29th, a lot of issues of who is appointed what position causes problems in apc. When the new govt finally comes in, appointments take place, then the trial and errors of appointees begin . Reshuffling of cabinet starts, while all this is taking place. The Nigerian plane is going down. A lot of uncertainties, mistakes, trials and errors etc. while all this madness is taking place, investors hold back, business activities are halted and the economy suffers a set back. 5, there will be lots of job losses than new ones. With the falling oil prices and the fall of the naira, Govt will have to shrink budget and block all loopholes of waste. Companies will have to cut down on staff, foreign investors will have to wait and monitor the policies of the new administration before they come into the country. This means that there will be fewer jobs. A lot of contracts might be terminated and abandoned, resulting in companies cutting down their workforce. So for those that believe they will be paid because they are unemployed, should ask where the money will come from. 6, lets pray no crisis arises from the niger delta region, if anything happens and affects our oil production amidst the falling oil prices. I wonder what will happen and how much a dollar will go for then, maybe 5-N600. 7, despite all that is listed above, politics is business. Those who invested in APC must recover their money no matter what is going on with the economy. This is Nigeria for u. 8, we all know that buhari knows nothing about economics and even if you employ the best hands to do the job, the person in charge should have a level of knowledge to what needs to be done. The new appointees will have to go through records of the past to know where to start from. While all this trial and error is going on, 4 years has gone. All we will be hearing from buhari and his team is that the govt is new and inherited a lot of problems. Nigerians should give them some more time and possibly a second term. Then with the untold hardship, Nigerians will start to ask for “CHANGE”…. 9, most of you will say the stolen money will be recovered and brought back into the economy. The lawyers and judges have to eat, so even if the past administration is tried in court, the cases will be adjourned till 4yrs pass. Will buhari be the judge? If people will have to be tried and jailed for corruption, will buhari jail his own party members? That is why buhari has said he will draw the line and put an end to corruption. Drawing the line means that all those guilty of corruption prior to his administration will go free . If u start to dig into cases of corruption, it will get to abacha's regime and u will be surprised at who will be exposed. SO WHAT DO U WANT? To crash the plane and let the corrupt politicians who have parachutes to jump out and have a soft landing while the plane crashes with Nigerian citizens? Or allow this plane to get to the nearest fuel station and refill? Remember you will be asked to have patience while they fix the country. While you are waiting, there are no jobs, the dollar is on the high side, and you are running out of ur little savings. But those fixing the nation already have billions in their account. They have private jets and properties all over Nigeria. You will have to pay them rent or you are thrown out of their houses while you wait. They own universities, so u will have to pay school fees while you wait or u are thrown out of school .They are into oil and gas and u must buy fuel from them while you wait. THEY CAN WAIT WHILE THEY ARE FIXING THE NATION THERE OWN WAY, BUT CAN YOU? 10 Likes 1 Share |

ruffp: The problem with most people asking for "CHANGE" is that the like the ideas, promises and fantasies but they dont ask "HOW" the change will come about. They want change but are you ready for the process? you will be paid 10k as unemployed, old people will receive 10k monthly, all the refineries will start to work, uninterrupted power supply, all criminals in jail, free education, children will be given food in school. You know what the APC will do for u, but u dont know how. **I wish they listened. *** 3 Likes |

The current situation of Nigeria now is like a plane that has a leakage in the fuel tank while it’s in the air heading to its destination. If this plane is managed, it can get to a fuel station in another country where it can refill and move on. Point of Correction:The current situation of Nigeria now is like that of a plane whose pilot collapse and died while on flight, the trainee co-pilot who never flew a plane before took charge. The plane starts perambulating instead. the passengers then realised the so-called co-pilot was inexperience, clueless and drunk, and even the 4 air hostess have taken charge issuing him command on how to fly the plane to salvage the situation, but to no avail. When it became apparent that they were all not gonna make it, fortunately for the passengers, there was an experienced and reputable former pilot among them who could safely fly them to their destination. The experienced former pilot volunteered to take charge of the plane to salvage the situation. While majority of the passengers agree, few insist they should take another chance on the cluessless and drunk co-pilot, afterall the experienced pilot is a Muslim and a Northerner, while the so-called co-pilot on the other hand is a Xtian and a southerner, so God would guide him to safely "fly" them to their destination. Majority of the passengers were shouting Change!, few were shouting Continuity! so, Pick your choice. 8 Likes |

Maple: The experience pilot is experienced in i riding okada which has two legs and either goes left or right. Is that what you call experience? To bring an okada rider to fly a plane? someone that knows nothing about economics? someone that will stabilize the global oil price? Have u tested him in any plane(democracy) after he drove the okada(military) ? Lets say the pilot now is drunk and has been making mistakes, didn't he have co pilots who have been there in the plane with him? Now they are trying to install an okada rider to fly a plane, simply because they are not happy with the pilot? Because the pilot is about to pass the point they expect him to hand over to them, based on some single term agreement? They rather have the an okada rider crash a plane, than have this pilot fly beyond this point. Be wise, when these politicians get into power u will realize its not about Nigerians. |

If PDP wins it is going to be a war of consolidation. I dont know how many people prefer the consolidation of the status quo. Well it will depend on those benefiting from it. on the other hand if APC wins it is going to be a war of recovery. It is like an uprising against the system by those outside the system. If you look at those outside the system they are usually more. late hour sharing of goodies hardly suffices to make people part of the system. call it economic crisis, for the recoverers it is called the ONLY OPPORTUNITY. Sincerely I wish things were done differently in the last four years. |

@OP so you are saying we should stick to a failed project instead of trying one that might work.....if we don't try it,how would we know what it can do....I personally dont like how this country is run by GEJ,maybe APC won't o better ,but if we don't give them the change how do we compare, there is benefit in diversity |

Only a fool does same thing, same way,and expect a different result. So because of fear of the unknown,we should allow GEJ/PDP continue ruling with no clue of how a country should be governed, with the glaring massive looting? Is it not better we do thing differently at least for once, than allow the "business as usual" mentality hunt us..PDP has ruled for 16years,why can't we just do it differently for once. At times, the angel u don't know, might be better than the devil you know. |
