Ironically the same Biafran agitators who refuse to recognize the authority of the Nigerian nation marched through the streets to demand the dismissal of Nigerian electoral umpire. Anyway, Gowon's lecture will afford the agitators, most of whom were not born before the war, an opportunity to learn few things about Biafra from someone who played a key role in the war. I'm Igbo and I think we've fought our own war. These guys are subjecting the basis for which the war was fought to ridicule.

If not for Gowon, they would have been slaves till today; he brought the policies of No Victor and No Vanquished, and the 3 Rs: Reconciliation, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, to ensure Igbos were welcomed back into the folds of Nigeria without any recrimination and with equal opportunity - how else could have their leaders Ojukwu and Ikweme subsequently even dreamt of, talkless of vying for the highest office in the country, the presidency; had they otherwise been treated like a vanquished/conquered ppl.

Its ironic how they are still yearning for the same presidency under One Nigeria yet calling for their Biafra; while rejecting Nigeria yet being the biggest beneficiaries of One Nigeria, spreading and settling in almost everywhere, including least places you would expect to find them - don't be surprised now even to find some in Sambisa Forest.

Its unfortunate, there is nothing anyone can do to satisfy them; they are just natural haters, they simply love to hate and so let them be.
