See how u just want to buy wahala!I was using an iphone 5 I got as a gift which I had to sell!I laugh at you in greek if after all I wil say,you still decide to get the 5s!.I'll start with the pros-1.it is a small cute phone.I love the design and size.
2.It is an overhyped and annoyingly overpriced phone which makes it command respect. You can't see jst anyone using it.when u are out and people will be like 'wow, you use an iphone?' And u say 'yep'( with u smiling internally),that's as good as it gets!
Cons-
1.You can't use bluetooth.you hear a nice song playing or u intend getting a picture.brother, you can't use bluetooth o!except its a transfer from iphone to iphone.now how many people wwud own an iphone where u work or sch?
2.You can't download songs, videos, pdf files...in fact anything from d internet.yes..so if u love free music don't bother!I remember I had to buy ed sheeran's bloodstream and thinking out loud songs from itunes for like 400 naira after d naira got devalued.the frustration I felt that day eh!
3.when u buy it,u can't just add your favourite songs o..u need the itunes app on ur pc to sync the songs into ur phone..if u r foolish enough to give it to slot guys to add songs for u,that's ur doom. The day u get your own itunes app on ur pc,all the previous songs and videos not synced with ur apple I'd will be wiped!
4.The appstore is the crappiest av seen after that of windows os..for files over 100mb,you wud need wifi or no download!you must upgrade to the latest ios 8 or you can't download some apps!once you are on ios 8,you can't downgrade it or jailbreak ur iphone!you see?
5.Many of the fun stuffs on it are better enjoyed in u.s eg hv u seen someone using imessage in nigeria?nada!
There are many more cons in buying an iphone..bt let me stop here!now the decision is yours to make.

In as much as you are entitled to your opinions, i want to quickly give some reverts to your points;

1.Truly, the bluetooth is useless with devices of other ecosystem, nonetheless, you can download the songs, share pics via socia media e.g bbm, whatsapp etc

2.Ofcourse you can download songs and videos, all you need is to download TDownloader from the appstore. for pfd files, it opens directly, but if you have issues, then download Officesuite from the appstore. (both apps are free)

3.You can sync your iPhone with with any pc at any time, once you know the tricks

4.Hmmmmmm.......... Your opinion!

5.Agreed,

** Data usage is same, it largely depends on your setting, you can verify that.
**You can have your own customized ringtone if you want

Having the customised ringtone, how possible would that be?

It is very possible. Get iTunes and a ringtone maker app..that should do the magic.

When someone sends you a song via BBM or Whatsapp, you will only be able to play the song by going back to the conversation. It won't be in your Music Library.
Re: What Are The Pros And Cons Of Owning An Iphone In Nigeria? by Ennamdee(m): 1:11pm On Mar 23, 2015
I believe you're right about songs not being in the music library, I also believe that is applicable to other mobile ecosystems.
But you can always download these songs by yourself

When I get a song via Whatsapp on my android device, it immediately goes into my music library and I can access it later from there. On my iPhone, it is not the case. I'll have to to back to the chat and listen there. Yea, you can download, but only with apps like Musify and iDownloader or something. Still won't sync with your music library. It's strictly an iTunes affair with the iPhone.

The major flaw youll get using an iphone is that many people with low self esteem emanating from their devices (tecno jiayu infinix and a host of other android devices) will always tell you u made a mistake, its a crappy phone etc. majority of those saying shit about the phone have not used one and the few who have don't totally know the in-depth usage of it..
Another is most of them jumped straight to android up from java phones and bb os 4-7 thats why android is their all in all..

One person was even mentioing changing imei.. Go and try that with regular android oems and not ur chinese knockoffs

Which smartphone doesn't require data to run?
A simple jailbreak will clear out all limitations placed on it..

Airblue sharing allows bluetooth transfer
Bridge allows downloaded music straight to iTunes without pc connections
Barrel gives home screen custom animations
Appcake allows you to download paid apps free. Swipe selection, c.c settings, Winterboard weatherbord etc
You can download anything by default with idownloader.

Once u root an android u lose warranty, whats keeping you from jailbreaking.

On the final end, stick to a device that will guarantee you lag free software with updates running three years minimum. Iphone 4s released in 2011 is currently running 2015 ios 8.2 while samsung s5 is still queing for android lollipop.

If jailbroken, can it still receive updates,be it OS or any software?

You can still recieve app updates but updating the os means youd lose your jailbreak status. It is HIGHLY important to wait till the os has a jailbreak before updating to it (which will come in due time)

I used to think iphone was crap and bragged about never using it till I got it instead of the m8 I so wanted then, after using it I doubt i did ever be able to use any other os except a backup phone. Ios is the best OS and phone

Yours cons

1. Xender is the solution

2. Idownloader is your solution and it has an inbuilt browser, I use it to download my SUITS every Thursday night and REVENGE every Sunday night, tooxclusive for naija songs before I found an app FREE MUSIC both apps are free in the store, plus a sweet app DOWNLOAD LITE, use it to download any video online, all I need is copy the link of the video and past in the download lite browser, and the video is in my camera roll (vine addict). Thinking of it right now I think download lite does the same work as idownloader got to try it, wud update when tested.

3. FREE MUSIC app is your solution there's no song you won't find on it, naija, foreign or village skool

4. Well it's has it pros and cons, I once downloaded and app without checking the size only to find out later it was 1.2gb, luckily for me I was on wifi, now imagine I wasn't on wifi. If you mean crappy App Store i bellieve App Store is the best, atleast it's not filled with unnecessary and duplicate virus apps as play store

5. People who can't enjoy their iphone are the same set of people who only use their andriod for social media and pictures. You don't even need to jailbreak your iPhone to enjoy it. As long as you can get 3gb a month on your iPhone ur good to go

Battery wise every phone has batt issue as long as ur 3G is on, get a power bank,
What else, scrolls down......... Well that's it for now,

My only major con is data which andriod users also Suffer from so, with my not jailbreaked iPhone there's nothing impossible

Conclusion iPhone is the best phone I have ever used, when u factor in, bb, lumia and andriod from past experience.

Why is it that more than half the people who take up the mantle to defend the android OS do such a horrible job?

iOS fan boys are humans just like you. They saw android and knew it was cheaper and a lot more functional than apple so why did they go ahead and get it?

Before I continue let me just point out that I think both are equal. Where one wins the other loses.

1: most android fans will get you started on the limitations that come with using an iPhone. Newsflash, most people don't notice it. While using my galaxy s4 I never had to send anything via Bluetooth or get stuff that wasn't already on my computer. Truth is you know this before you got the phone and you did because it wasn't going to be an issue. For those who know, there are tons of ways to improve on that. Xender allows sharing. With infuse I can just copy any video and play. It's still hectic sometimes but let's be honest it's like driving a V8 that drinks fuel, you really don't care.

2. One con that just breaks my head with iOS is storage. It is either too small or too expensive. That said, if you have ever lost important data because your memory card got fried or infected then you will appreciate having no memory card slot and know that your phone memory is as reliable as they come and can keep your data and allows you to access it at any time. I didn't know memory cards had class speeds until I got a fake one. This one is a tie

3. Hardware: android fans won't like this but raw stats are just fun when they are read. When a monstrous quad core still struggles and lags with the most basic use where a simple dual core excels doing the same thing is just amazing. Any tech wiz who wishes to be honest will admit that every iPhone iteration was top line in performance. Androids pack raw power and so need more juice and still manage to last just as long as the iPhone. And please if you use your iPhone on 3G then don't bother. That thing sucks battery like a hungry baby. Wifi is the answer. Anyway, hate it or love it. The iPhone wins here and flawlessly too.

3: software features: this is two way. Apple vs samsung and android will win anyway. They have just too much stuff. But iOS vs android? iOS kills it everytime. The sheer amount of things you can do (even though most were stolen from android and made only better) is just amazing. The camera, the sound, the media support...yada yada....I'll call this a tie because of samsung.

4: security: this is really subjective don't you think? I mean if you root your android and jailbreak your iPhone they pretty much become the same. There isn't one thing you can do with a rooted android that can't be done with a jail broken iPhone (maybe it's more complicated in the iPhone but it's possible). So let's assume we don't tamper with stuff. The android exposes you to tons of crapware in its own play store. Apps that tell you to speed up your phone only to slow it down. Fake apps that do nothing but fill your cache. Eventually you get that storage error where you have space but can't install stuff. The fact that you can't install third party apps on iPhone is one reason why it's ecosystem is still secure. Not invinsible but it's a lot more secure than what android offers (except you are using the blackphone) iOS wins

5 Price: let's not speak too much English. Android wins

6: flexibility: android wins flawless. You don't need any software once you have your android. You can plug to anything and share with anything. That's just power. iPhone in all its glory can't compete there. Android wins

There is a lot more detail I can cover but it's really boiling down to this one fact:

They are really doing the same thing in different ways. I use both and I can't tell you I prefer one to the other. If you can afford both you'll get both and that is Gods honest truth.
