I think mothers should just listen to what their doctors tell them instead of all this nairaland consultation(aspirin or not, compression socks or not). When I travelled(with British airways though so there was a stop over in the uk),I didn't use compression socks. Also I was a cabin crew on international flights for a couple of years and I didn't notice pregnant women wearing such becos they were on long haul flights. Unless you are at risk of something,Pls don't bother bout the socks. My take. 2 Likes |

Iya Ibeji, can I use a pre-notarized DS-3063 (signed by hubby) form from any Naija court or other notary and go along with it as I travel? Or must it be from the embassy after baby is born? I hear different states have their own rules. I am using Oakbend in Houston too. sayoberry: |

I applied to renew my B1/B2 visa via drop box last week. I just got an email from the embassy asking me to come for an interview. Should I be scared? Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any tips/advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys. |

Bmahn: Aaah...me I have bought all tickets already abj-dallas. ..... Using emirates July 31st N317,400 each (bought ticket direct on the emirates site) cos I have a party of 6 travelling (kids. .mother in-law et al). Have a 22 hrs layover in dubai (emirates have even booked complimentary hotels n dubai visas for us all) Ryt now I'm just researching hospitals buh noticed very Lil no. Of ppl re using Dallas hospitals. This I'm leaning towards taking domestic flight to el paso when it's time 4 delivery. ...arnd sept last week of the month. Buh if I see an affordable hospital in Dallas dt does guaranties not giving x-factor bills other than what's wooed. .then she'd give birth in Dallas. ..checked out arlington med centre. .buh since I don't have ppl with experience delivering there. .in a bit skeptical. |

olokings: Do you have drs correspondence for POE? |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by lalavita: 7:09pm On Mar 23, 2015 |
Yes, you should be scared...lol just kidding o Provide more details so people can give constructive advice. Did you previously have a baby in the states? or Are you planning on giving birth this trip? If you previously gave birth, take along your zero balance receipts for OBGYN, Hosp and Peds. Also take along any relevant docs like bank statements, letter from office showing you have a job etc...Just in case. These items show your home ties. If you are planning on giving birth...Take your burden of proof that you have made plans, you can afford it and you have home ties. Drs appt, hosp details, bank statements, budget sheet, accommodation booking. Good luck Terese69: |

Nothing to be scared of, just go with all your burden of proof. It is part of their process to call people randomly, which happens to be you in the case. All the best and let us know it goes Terese69: |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by Terese69: 7:55pm On Mar 23, 2015 |
dere5: Thanks for your response dere5. No, I haven't had a child in America before. This is my first pregnancy. I had a B1/B2 visa which I used twice. Once in 2013 while I was still single 2013 and then again in 2014 when I travelled with my husband after our wedding. So this will be my first time applying for a renewal. In my DS-160, I indicated that I was now married, I intend to be in the US for 3 months and that I will be travelling with my Mum. I wonder if those where what prompted their decision to call me. |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by Terese69: 8:11pm On Mar 23, 2015 |
lalavita: Thanks a lot for your response lalavita. I intend to use Dr. Fagbohun so all I have is the generic email he sent me stating that he is happy to have me as his patient and he does not accept advance payment, neither does the hospital (oakbend). He also attached the cost of services in the email so I intend to take those with me to my interview. I wonder if that will suffice. I have never had a baby in the US before, this is actually my first pregnancy. I haven't booked an accommodation yet, however I intend to use soulcare concierge. I have email correspondences with them and also the quote they sent me. So I will take those too. I have my bank statements and budget sheet already, pay slips for the past 6 months, letter from my boss confirming my maternity leave and an introduction letter from my company. Is there anything else I should take with me? |

Terese69: Bravo ! You have done well. I guess it was the 3months stay and travelling with your mum that gave you away. I guess they just want to see your burden of proof. Some people on this thread were also invited and they were granted visa after the interview,so no worries. I wish you all the best. |

Newmum0615:I uses the one from the embassy. I think naniakay used the one from a court, but just to be on the safe side, use the embassy own. And dont go along with it. They won't collect it. It has to be after the baby is born. And the signature bof the notary must be d sane as Ur hubbys own. Intact they check the dates at the passport office. |
