Cases of homicide by murderous husbands against their wives have been reported in Delta State and in the neighbouring Anambra State.

Penultimate week in both states witnessed no fewer than six married women losing their lives in the hands of their husbands, with infidelity fingered for the actions.

In Ezeaso Street, Odume Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Osemeke (surname withheld) whose wife was alleged to have been having an adulterous relationship with a native doctor, shot his wife to death and turned the gun on himself to end it all, but he was promptly saved by neighbours.

In Obiaruku, Delta State, a 62-year-old farmer (names withheld) allegedly stabbed his wife to death after she confessed that she had been cheating on him for years.

Eyewitness accounts have it that upon killing his wife, the killer husband secretly attempted to commit suicide by hanging himself, but was discovered and rescued by neighbours and handed over to the police.

In another case, the people of Akabo–Obofia in Newichi, Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State woke up to the rude shock of the ugly news of the sudden death of a woman whose body was found in a gutter by unknown persons. Sources allege that the woman was killed by her husband following a quarrel that brewed from overwhelming evidence of infidelity on her part.
