I have not read all the responses , so pardon me if I repeat someone's views. The first question you asked is whether your height and your husbands height will affect the height of your children. The answer to this is yes, genetics is a strong determinant of the height of the offspring . But genetics also extend to grand parents and possibly even further up in the family tree. It would be interesting to know if your parents and your suitors parents are short or tall.
The second point is that height of the child is not entirely determined by genetics. Health and nutrition, standard of living and quality of life affect children's hight very much.
Another independent factor is of course mothers health during pregnancy affects the baby's growth in the womb and small babies tend to be small adults ( taking into account that catch-up growth occurs in infancy ).
It really depends on how desperate you are for tall children. But with the given heights some of your children will almost without a doubt be short. But remember there have been more famous short people in the world than famous tall persons.
Napoleon Bonaparte, Lord Lugard, Sani Abacha, Nasiru El-Rufai and of Prof Osinbajo ( my VP) are some of the most remarkable great human beings who were not tall.
Don't forget that Jesus had Zacchaeus of Jericho who was short and Muhammad (SAW) had Abdullahi bin Mas'ood. Both short but great men in history of religion.

My dear everyone has fears when marriage talk becomes more serious, at least you are not ashamed to express yours.No matter how shallow they may seem to others these are YOUR fears .

1) if he is shorter than 5ft yes the truth is he is indeed short but how do you really feel about this man as in really really feel about him?
2) Please keep your insecurities to yourself, he doesn't need you to highlight the fact that he is short, believe me he knows and he is probably thanking God that he found someone who wants to marry him despite his height, so please dont tell him your fears.
3) if his height bothers you so much leave him alone, his height is not his fault, he wont grow taller in the nearest future.
4) Please leave him alone if you are not proud of him or will be ashamed to pronounce him as your husband to who has ears

6) The issue of short children is really not an issue as short parents doesn't necessarily mean short children.
7) my ex was 6ft 4 and now i'm married to a sweet loving man who is just 5ft 4(same as me) i had the same fears as you, funny enough his parents are average height ,but my dear if i had let my fears rule me i would have missed big time , i cannot begin to tell you how happy i am.
Ultimately its you who has to decide what is really important to you, nothing wrong with short kids,i need you to look beyond what people will say , how you look in public, look at how this man makes you feel , do you feel safe with him, do you laugh with him, does he make you happy, is he interested in you as a person, your opinions, does he defend you ? does he celebrate you, is he willing to grow with you to create a wholesome life? if this man makes you happy wetin again ,sweetie there are too many unhappy people everywhere , dont join them oh.

But my fears is just the kids. But I now know within me that my kids won't be short and height really don't matter. Is just want the children will become in future.

It is a genetically proven fact that ''your height is generally determined by your father. Intelligence, emotional strength and body shape is determined by your mother". However, this shouldn't determine your choice of spouse as scientific facts aren't absolute. Besides some very tall folks are often born of parents whose heights are bellow average. And more importantly, only God knows tomorrow.

Very few people would see the sense in your comment. I'm equally disappointed in the lady, you don't sniff what you don't intend eating. When you know you give this much priority to height, why did you date him in the first place? Could that be a misplaced priority? Besides, when does height becomes a disability that you are showing this much concern for? I guess you are still an undergraduate, who has not actually defined what she wants in future.

Now my advice: Your post has spoken volume of your desire and concern for height, thus, marrying the guy won't give you the kind of psychological satisfaction cum confidence you should have in your husband. So, drop him and start the searching process again.... All the best.
