A Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad, LAG BUS by kinglekan: 8:26pm On Mar 24, 2015 |
A terrible, horrible, no good, very bad, LAG BUS. Okay so am guessing you are already wondering what this is about. First of I coined my title from a vewi classy hollywood movie you need to watch if u haven't seen it already. Nwaz I had a gr8 day and I decided to share the ist "fun and annoying" part of it with you guys. This morning I was at the Lag bus terminal in my area and I wanted to catch the early morning bus to enable me beat the usual lagos working day traffic. After waiting for a while a bus pulls up and people start boarding, so did I. While seated I had planned to just relax my back, take a power nap b4 I get to my destination. After standing committee folks had all taking their positions, there was this strong carbon mono oxide that just started filling the whole bus. Trust Nigerians, they started to yell and cause the driver and the whole lag bus crew. As I rested my head for my power nap, the Lag bus started making a very loud creaking noise that jolted me back to reality. The driver was trying all he could to activate the gear and it just didn't bulge. Finally the gear system gave in to the strong muscles of the Pilot and we were good to go, so I thought in my mind. Next thing the bus started moving and jerking like it was been tolled and forced to move. At this point my eye don dey clear of sleep. The speed of the bus was so slow that if my destination was a 100meter dash, I would have preferred to bring out the athleticism in me and go for a sprint. I sighed heavily knowing I would have to endure it. While I was still deep in thoughts over the situation of things, there was a loud bang as the rear of the bus hit the ground really hard after the bus engaged a pot hole. The scream and shouts from the passengers was epic!! "Oga driver u blind", "Oga driver nor be cow u carry ooo", "Oga wetin be dis naa" were few of the comments I could remember. Everyone was still getting over that when there was suddenly another thud with a much greater effect than the first. I felt the impact all through my spine, this bus definitely hard no shock absorber. At this point I had totally forgotten I wanted to take a nap and I endured the snailish movement of the bus coupled with the incessant thuds from entering pot holes. Then I was humoured by my elderly seat partner who was all dressed up in the "The lords chosen usual apparel" as he had been deeply asleep and not even the thuds were enough to wake him up. He slept in a very awkward position and I was still astonished as to how his neck wouldn't hurt in such a position, when all of a sudden the elderly woman standing by my side said to the man behind her "Oga hold your thing well well, nor allow am touch me again ooo". I held in the laugh but it was killing me. Inside this rickety bus with the sun already up and scorching, a man is busy trying to misbehave. Well something to make me laugh finally I tot. A lot more happened but my hands already hurt from typing all of this. So permit me to fast forward to this scene. Right behind me was this two ibadan babes who seemed engrossed in their discussion. Their deep accent was undeniable nd I had not really paid much attention to them till one of them wanted to get a drink while in traffic. After getting hers she asked her friend which one she preferred (and of cause all this was in yoruba). Next thing I heard was "Montain ni mofe". I was like which drink goes by such name?? Abi this babe wan by Kilimanjaro or Everest. Even the person selling was already confused. She kept sayin "montain montain montain" (permit my spelling, tryna give u an Idea of how she sounded). Then as if out of frustration that she wasn't understood she shouted "MONTAIN DU" AHHHHHHH!!! So that's what she has been trying to say. Mountain dew. Pheww!!! What a LAG BUS!!!!
