Scantee, I have gone through this post and I must confess that it is very insightful. I am currently having a job(5 years) that does not freak me cos its not Engr. I have no experience in Oil & Gas, but want to work hard to break in. I learn quickly and like learning by myself. Lets start with HSE, must I undergo the training or can I just study and take the exam? What do you advise?

Any other advise? I read Electronic Engr, interested in Instrumentation, Automation Engineering, or can you help link me up with someone in this field who will be able to advise(thats only if you cannot) me on what to do to make up for my lack of experience?

I have always dreaming of working in an Oil and Gas sector, dunno if anybody will be in place of help here if I can even enter as a form of casual worker or apprentice stuff, just to have that experience, money is not the matter now, just need the experience which I know will help me make the money there after.
