@jpphilips,yes,i would kill ghadaffi again if given the chance. dont you have any shred of national pride?,dont you possess any iota of self worth? Ghadaffi could have sparked civil war with his reckless statement!,do you know what would have happened if we had smiled and swept the whole issue under the rug?,let me tell you what would have happened: we would have lost our power, pride and respect; every country in the world that has a grudge against us would have had free rein to verbally pummel us and denigrade our social rights,in short,we would have fallen dramatically on the international stage.is that what you want? Here you come, hailing ghadaffi's dinar currency system, you are a f00l if you believe that a ruthless dictator like ghadaffi would implement policies in the sole interest of an imaginary 'United States of Africa'.who would have been the ruler of Africa?,Ghadaffi?. You can continue praising Chad for "coming to our resque" like the gullible puppet you are,i'm tired of giving people lectures. |

agaugust:Neutral ? Quick Scenario: The mineral rich African country of Kotomaga(imaginary) is ravaged by a deadly civil war. Between the Red boys and KLF(Kotomaga liberation force), the civil war fuelled by outside countries seeking control. Both sides receive weapons via the remaining air ports which have no radar after being destroyed at the incipient of the conflict. Nigeria backs Red boys and SA backs KLF. SA deploys its air power and liason teams with KLF for the final offensive to capture all remaining territory and consolidate control. 1. Can Nigeria deploy its air power to counter this pending offensive? 2. Can Nigeria establish air control over the land held by the Red boys? 3. Both sides are able to use charter air lift to bring ammo, heavy logistics vehicles. |

agaugust: DONT CONFUSE THE MAX EFFECTIVE RANGE WITH THE COMBAT RADIUS. GRIPEN HAS A MAX RANGE OF OVER 3200 SU-30 HAS THE MAX RANGE OF 3000 http://www.combataircraft.com/en/Military-Aircraft/SAAB/JAS-39-Gripen/ http://www.combataircraft.com/en/Military-Aircraft/Sukhoi/Su-30-Flanker/ THE COMBAT RADIUS IS DEPENDENT ON THE NUMBER OF FACTORS SUCH AS ORDNANCES AND NUMBER OF ENGINES, EXTERNAL DROP TANKS, ECT. GRIPEN CARRY HEAVY GUNS AND WEAPONS SYSTEMS AND THAT LIMIT IT TO 850KM. COMBAT AIRCRAFTS EXPERTS BELIEVE THAT THE LOWER THE COMBAT RADIUS OF A FIGHTER THE BETTER AND HEAVIER ITS ORDNANCES. HOWEVER, COMBAT RADIUS IS NOT IMPORTANT IN A DOG FIGHT AND NEITHER WILL IT HELP A FIGHTER WIN. IT IS GOOD FOR AIR PATROLS http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combat_radius YOU KNOW LITTLE ABOUT FIGHTER JETS AND YOU LIKE TO ARGUE MUCH ABOUT THEM. I TOOK MY TIME TO VISIT LIBRARIES AND READ A LOT ABOUT FIGHTER JETS. 1 Like |

Msauza: Hey boy, when @Patches himself is avoiding your comment tells you that you have proved to be a superior liar above his own fraud level Anyway I won't be hard on you because you are a civilian. This website is co confusing you by quoting Gripen FERRY RANGE calling it MAXIMUM RANGE. http://www.combataircraft.com/en/Military-Aircraft/SAAB/JAS-39-Gripen/ Then you now confuse yourself by matching the COMBAT RADIUS of SU-30 with FERRY RANGE of Gripen. Stick to one type of range when you compare : Gripen Ferry range 3,200 km Su-30 Ferry range 7,000 km http://fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/row/su-30.htm . |

agaugust: THE DATA YOU PROVIDED IS VERY WRONG. I TOLD YOU THAT YOU ARE STILL A BAMBINO WHEN IT COMES TO FIGHTER JETS. THAT DATA OF SU-30 INCLUDES TWO IN-FLIGHT REFUELING, THATS WHY IT MAKES 7000KM. FOR MORE INFO FROM THE MANUFACTURE ITSELF THE RANGE STAND AT 3000KM WITHOUT IN-FLIGHT REFUELING. http://www.sukhoi.org/eng/planes/military/su30mk/lth/ YOU ARE A SMALL BOY GO AND EDUCATE YOURSELF ABOUT THE FOLLOWING: -COMBAT RANGE: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combat_radius -MAXIMUM RANGE: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Range_(aeronautics) |

Msauza: Dude, keep messing up with Wikipedia and some low class combat aircraft. My source is FAS = Federation Of American Scientists. They are a respectively military research information/database website. They confirm Su-30 jets data as follows. Normal range (Combat) 3,000 km Maximum range 5,200 km Ferry range (Unarmed) 6,990 km.....Approx 7,000 km . http://fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/row/su-30.htm |

agaugust: BWAHAHAHA…MY SOURCE IS FROM THE MANUFACTURE OF THE AIRCRAFT AND SAYS THE MAXIMUM DISTANCE THAT THE AIRCRAFT CAN FLY WITHOUT ORDNANCE AND INFLIGHT REFUELING AT HEIGHT IS =3000KM AND AT SEA LEVEL WHERE THERE IS AIR FRICTION IS 1200KM http://www.sukhoi.org/eng/planes/military/su30mk/lth/ NOW WHICH SOURCE IS SUPERIOR? WIKIPEDIA WAS ONLY QUOTED TO TEACH YOU ABOUT: -COMBAT RADIUS AND MAXIMUM RANGE OR FERRY RANGE. THE EDUCATION YOU ACQUIRED IN NIGERIA IS INFERIOR. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 10:01pm On Mar 26, 2015 |
Msauza: Bwahahaha You read bad websites and no books, all you do is free google search on internet inside your daddy's house . Reputable military website Air force technology says Gripen combat radius is ONLY 800 km : "The Gripen can fly at a maximum speed of 2,470km/h. The combat radius and ferry range of the aircraft are 800km and 3,200km respectively. Its service ceiling is 15,240m. The aircraft weighs around 5,700kg and its maximum take-off weight is 14,000kg". http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/gripen/ No run to mummy in the kitchen and ask for dinner, don't cry because of Gripen jets poor 800 km combat radius . |

Msauza: Your source is Sukhoi company BUT your data is ONLY for old 1990s version Su-30 MK, I was quoting for Su-30 MKI, and there are more powerful new version Su-30 M2 and Su-30 SM of year 2012 with different data. You just screwed yourself up, there are almost 10 different models/ versions of Su-30 Flanker jets in the world. Olodo . |

agaugust: "I" FOR INDIA YET THE AIRCRAFT USES THE SAME ENGINES AND SAME PERFORMANCE AND EVERYTHING OTHER THAN THE WEAPON SYSTEM. IT WILL STILL HAVE THE MAXIMUM RANGE OF 3000KM, DUMMY. THE ONLY THING INDIA WAS AFTER WAS TRANSFER OF TECHNOLOGY, NOTHING ELSE. WHY DO I HAVE TO ALWAYS TEACH YOU ABOUT FIGHTER JETS. I NEVER KNEW MUCH ABOUT FIGHTER JETS BUT I PLEDGED MY TIME TO VISIT LIBRARIES AND SEARCH FOR THE BOOKS THAT WERE SPECIALLY WRITTEN FOR FIGHTER JETS ENTHUSIASTS. I GUESS YOU CAN GO AND DO THE SAME. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 10:36pm On Mar 26, 2015 |
Msauza: Su-30 MKI means Modernized Commercial India. Different Su-30 Flankers have different fuel load capacities and payload on pylons, meaning different internal fuel load ad different external drop tanks fuel load , all means different travel ranges for different Su-30 versions. You are teaching me aircraft, by what? By doing random google searches on free public internet website that is available even to half illiterates that can browse a laptop to do information copy and paste. Mumu Domingo Now please tell us the COMBAT RADIUS of Gripen jet . 1 Like |

jln115: In Maths I was taught that when they say that the answer is between 5 and 7, the the right acceptable answer will be six(6) and not 5. that is 5+7/2=6. In statistics, the median between 3000 and 3200 would be 3000+3200/2=3100 acceptable answer would be 3100. |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 11:51pm On Mar 26, 2015 |
agaugust: COMBAT RADIUS MEANS NOTHING=ZERO IN REAL DOGFIGHT. IT DOES NOT HELP AT ALL, IT IS ONLY GOOD FOR RECCE MISSIONS AND PATROL. THE SU-30 HAS LIGHT ORDNANCES COMPARED TO GRIPEN. I QUOTE: Combat radius refers to the distance from an airbase that a warplane can reach, patrol there for a set amount of time and return to base with minimal fuel left, thus completing a combat mission. For a given aircraft, its combat radius varies according to whether or not it carries external drop tanks , the level ( altitude) of the combat mission, and the amount and weight of ordnance it is carrying: An aircraft with drop tanks will have a greater combat radius than the same one without, due to the extra amount of fuel carried. An aircraft engaged in a low-level (lo) combat mission will have a smaller combat radius than the same one engaged in a high- level (hi) mission, due to higher fuel consumption at lower altitudes (higher atmospheric pressure / air density). An aircraft with more and heavier ordnance will have a smaller combat radius than the same one with less and lighter ordnance, due to higher fuel consumption at heavier weights. The combat radius of an aircraft is often given with its mission profile (without in-air refueling ). |

agaugust: And as for flying hours you have to consult yearly budget reports for instance the 2011/2012 DoD Annual Report states that while the Gripen squadron was allocated only 250 flying hours for that FY, 857.1 hours were actually flown by using funds from other parts of the budget. http://www.dod.mil.za/documents/annualreports/annualreport1112n.pdf Gripen pilots fly as many hours as most French and American pilots |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 12:36am On Mar 27, 2015 |
agaugust: COMBAT RADIUS = ZERO IN A DOGFIGHT. THE FIGHTER WITH THE BEST ORDNANCE WILL WIN. DOGFIGHT DOES NOT TAKE 5000KM OR 10000KM OF COMBAT RADIUS. IT TAKES A SHORT TIME POSSIBLE AT SHORT TO MEDIUM DISTANCES OR SOMETIMES AT LONG DISTANCES THROUGH BVRs. SO TELL ME WHERE DOES COMBAT RADIUS FIT IN THERE? |

Let me just say a few things before you go around making st;pid posts about how the SU-30 has a better range. Firstly the Su-30 needs much longer airstrips to land on( Not ideal for Africa), where as the Gripen has a wider range of landing opportunities and thus easier to maintain and refuel in a war time africa Secondly the Gripen has only one engine, and the Gripens single engine is much more efficient and easier to maintain than the SU-30s twin engine. the Gripen can also land on unprepared runways( essential in Africa) And lastly The Grippen: Has a much better wing loading(making it more maneuverable )_ Has a much much much much much better RCS( better by 9900%) Better avionics Better Stall speed Better Claim rate So basically the Gripen is superior in every way. 1 Like |
