jln115: No, it was only 1 ship that fired. It also was the South-African navy who took the shots. The Headline clearly states it was the SAN. So, if it was the 76mm, what did the South-African Navy ship use to shot at Mr Day in pitch darkness?......... 5.56mm? Word of warning though, never get in a fire fight with any of your neighbours, especially the Namibians. I've seen those buggers, and they don't seem like a bunch you wanna be messing , least of all mis-firing around with. 5 Likes 1 Share |

rka1:"SANDF wouldn't understand that as it has never been in real combat": Battel of Govender's Ridge Battle of Kibati/Triple Towers Battle of Beni Battle of Kitchanga Battle of Nyiabiondo/Lukweti[ Battle of Bangui Note, all these battles took place in the last 2 years. Secondly im not dismissing that there weren't blue on blue casualties between American and UK soldiers, but you have to take into account that most blue on blue casualties were from aircraft bombing runs and not soldiers firing on each others. 1 Like |

jln115: The battle of bangui, your were roundly and utter defeated, you begged for mercy and fled. French and FOMAC troops had to clean your mess. "A source with the United Nations in Bangui said the South Africans had asked for assistance from French forces to help them leave the country." http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSBRE92M0AU20130324?irpc=932 "Bangui - South African soldiers in the Central African Republic are seeking safe passage to the airport after taking heavy losses during fighting with Seleka rebels, Reuters reports." "Amy Martin of the UN's humanitarian agency, OCHA, told the BBC World Service that the SA troops had retreated to their barracks and were seeking safe passage to the airport." "Seleka spokesperson Eric Massi said the rebels had broken through a line of South African soldiers during their push into the city." http://m.news24.com/news24/SouthAfrica/News/SA-soldiers-in-CAR-retreat-to-barracks-want-out-20130324 You ran away. 4 Likes 1 Share |

rka1:Nope I don't know it was the South African Navy, its yet to be proved. And yes simulation is different from real combat, but the fact that you brag about Nigeria being in a civil war and thus are more experienced is shocking, ill rather be at peace than at war, but hey that's just me. And our soldiers see enough combat during peace keeping missions, not as much as Nigerian soldiers(because we are not at war), and what we lack in experience we make up for in training and the passing down of past experiences by our Vets. |

jln115: With 89 murders a day in South-Africa, you're significantly worse of than Nigeria. Next time, pick a dictionary, first understand what a civil war is. Nigeria has almost concluded operations against terrorists in the N.E. All take a country with a $524 billion economy with a growth rate of %5.5 over South-Africa strongly for a quarter growth. 1 Like |

But the attacks in yobe and gombe by 'you know who' were indeed a big surprise,i thought that they are in total disarray?,how come they are still organized enough to stage such a disturbance?,the SSS should be more proactive in order to prevent unnecessary casualties, they shouldnt thrust all the herculean tasks on our armed forces alone, the NA and NAF arent magicians. on a brighter note,i hope you voted for continuity of progress, transformation and positive change?.lol. 1 Like |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 6:34pm On Mar 28, 2015 |
Henry120: Two years ago, a small South African force unexpectedly found itself fighting a much stronger force of Seleka rebels outside Bangui in the Central African Republic (CAR). They fought so effectively, the Seleka commander proposed a ceasefire rather than suffer more casualties. Running out of ammunition and lacking the strength to stop Seleka taking Bangui, the South African commander agreed. http://iolmobile.co.za/#!/article/the-hard-lessons-learnt-in-car-1.1836450 2 Likes |

Henry120:1.its 49 a day 2.A civil War/conflict is a war between organized groups within the same state or republic. 3. Our GDP per capita is 4,5X that of Nigeria thus if we had the same population as Nigeria our GDP would be almost $2500 Billion or $2,5 trillion. And our GDP grew 4.1% in the last quarter of 2014. |
