Thank you very much for asking him that question, when it comes to formal education in Nigeria, English language is the only acceptable means of transmitting knowledge.

This is not about perfect eloquence from these professors, AFTERALL I have also listened to other professors, this is about BASIC fluency while expressing, the foreign countries used as examples use their local languages which is acceptable globally thus can be excused, but if a professor irrespective of his area of specialization can not fluently announce/ present election results then we are cursed as a nation.

That is why mediocre's like Pateience Jonathan can brag about a Ph.D..
Yes sir, we are talking BASIC fluency here. The only reason you are saying what you are saying here is because you have no, absolutely zero, idea how the academic world works.
In India, English is also the acceptable means of communication. But you wanna hear how Indian professors talk? And i mean, the very excellent ones amongst them? You want to hear how their English sounds, especially the mammoths who lecture at the IITs?
Do you know Ramanujan? Google him! He was probably the next great mathematician after Jacobi. His English was as much a jumble as most other Indian greats, especially the ones who never left their home soil.
Chief, go and research these things well before you start talking on a public forum please.
