zeezahbee: I dont know your stress with him......dont we have our choice of opinion here anymore? Because you are now in the umited states or because people seek advice from you as you have experience the process means they must do what you want? For christ sake the guy have the right to disclose what ever he wish to or not so also you have the right to respond or not to respond to his question or help.......you dont judge a man by looking at him now because we dont know tomorrow and because he decided to be fully transparent because he needs help does not mean u use it against him and insult him..... please lets drop all this unnecessary i know it all and help who we want to help and over look those we felt we cant or dont want to. lets be one....one love 5 Likes |

Just for your information, with regard to your second point, aligning your interests with those of our faculty members is nowhere near as important for our program as it would be for a Ph,D. program. Our funding for assistantships, as a rule, comes from administrative units rather than research. Accordingly, our decisions with regard to whom to fund are based primarily on a combination of GPA and professional experience Please, guys, what do you make of the above? Thanks. mystiqme, slimmy05, msnas, zeezahbee kunlebal ojaP ebdib aadeyi |

Might be helpful to include your second point which was referred to, but reading between the lines I guess you asked if aligning your interests to those of the faculty members will increase your chances of getting funding and they are saying not really as decision on funding for the program is based on gpa and experience and not research interests. For a PhD program, having aligned interests with the faculty will help with funding as phd is research based, but not this program which I assume is a masters program as funding is more administrative hence the need for experience not research interests. Hope that helps sirRiddy: |

Very helpful, sir. However, when he says it is administrative, what will the GA position entail? Sorry for asking too many questions. ttmacoy: |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by ttmacoy: 3:26pm On Mar 29, 2015 |
Simply put the GA role available for the program you are applying for is administrative in nature i.e. funded by a particular administrative department where you will work hence why he said it is based on your experience and not research interest as would have been the case if it was a graduate research assistant role for a PhD program. See below from a university's website which explains further: The official title of Graduate Assistant (GA) is used in all university documents, but, in general practice, Graduate Assistants are referred to either as Graduate Teaching Assistants (TAs), Graduate Research Assistants (RAs), or Graduate Administrative Assistants (AAs). Administrative Assistantships A number of academic and non-academic units employ Graduate Administrative Assistants (AAs), generally to perform administrative support functions in an office setting. sirRiddy: |

Just send the money to your sister, fill the sevis form online @ https://www.fmjfee.com/i901fee/desktop/students/formSelection.htm Send her a copy of the submitted application and tell her to go pay at any western union office which is the fastest or she follow the instructions on the form to send a check. Hope this helps. Goodluck |

Hello everybody, Pls who can help me make sense out of this cos I'm confused "I just spoke with the Graduate School admissions office regarding your application. The problem is that in lieu of your Redeemer's University transcript you submitted a WES course-by-course analysis. The Graduate School accepts ICAP, but not course-by-course analyses. In a previous email, you mentioned that you had an ICAP evaluation. Please email that evaluation directly to me, and I will send it to the Graduate School to complete your application." Btw, I paid for WES ICAP course by course analysis and it has been evaluated since December last year. |
