Nigerians and illusions.

GEJ can't win the award. He ran a clueless and a thoroughly corrupt government laden with unprecedented impunity. There are reasons why he lost.

You don't win the award by simply conceding defeat to a winner.

he could have rigged the elections and nothing would have happened, you remember when nigeria didnt have a president for two months after yaradua DIED? or did you forget so soon that GEJ has been disenfranchised by the northern oligarchy since the begining.. they created boko haram,, just wait MEND is coming back!!! No more oil

For his failure to secure the release of over 200 Chibok girls that were kidnapped a year ago, or for failing in his bid for re-election?

The news from Nigeria today is wonderful. Africa’s largest country has concluded a peaceful election process. Furthermore, the incumbent has already gracefully conceded and congratulated his successor – a first for Nigeria and a benchmark for other African countries to follow.

Today, we Africans are all proud of Nigeria and President Jonathan.

Thank you Mr President. If you are seeking a legacy, you have definitely achieved it.

He must be honoured because he deserves honours. This is just the beginning, I am quite sure he will receive many invitations to be honoured. Honours await the man who has not laboured in vain.

A defeated gej is still more popular and celebrated than buhari.

In my own opinion, Gej is a better man than buhari can ever hope to be. I have seen buhari in defeat calling for war and Jonathan in defeat calling for peace.
I
I think Nigerians are deluded and as such are starting to give themselves more credit than they truely deserve.

The only reason your vote counted, was because the man at the top wanted it to.

What stop him from resigning jaga with all the inconsistence associated with card reader and feb
14th sacrosanct brouhaha? U people?.lol I don't think so.

A desperate man would have acted swiftly. Remove jaga at the hight of the suspicions, replace him with a loyalist. The opposition and nigerians would cry foul and return to their work place in the morning.what is done is done!

This man has set the pace now I sincerely hope Nigerians can monitor their democracy from here and on.

One thing am certain of though, is that this single man has shown that he is a better single human being than all those APC wards combined and Nigeria don't deserve a leader like this.

Gbogbo eyi tan si eni yen... Oti po ju. Lack of moral training has been a curse to some people. That man should just change attitudes and learn how to treat issues with correct sense. President Jonathan fame has been registered and endorsed by reasonable people. I hail the man of peace.

Thank you for typing my thoughts. Do these people know what Mo Ibrahim award stand for? Anyways, I read that if not for John Kuffour and other ex Nigerian and African presidents who prevailed on him to concede defeat, he was ready to fight it! Like I said, I was shocked he accepted defeat.

In ur dreams. People's memories ar not so short. Apart frm being d most corrupt & weakest nigerian leader in history, he was d most divisive. d world can never forget how he used tribe & religion to divide our country or d insensitive & heartless response of his wife in dat disgraceful "diaris god o" saga.

I beg to disagree. He does not deserve that award. All those praising him for conceeding defeat and his call to GMB are doing so to console and grease the bruised ego of Mr president. As a leader the buck stops at your table. The blood of those killed in River state because of his desperation are crying for justice, not to talk of thousand killed bh because of his cluelessness or delibrate inaction exposed by his activity in the past six week. History will surely remember him and i am sure the organisers of Mo award will take cognizance of this.

The incoming President Buhari should also try all he could to receive at least one honour at the end. He has now been given the opportunity to get honour into his file, because such has never happened before.

I'm sowi, buh he can NOT win the price. This is simply because d MOIbrahim price places very high premium on corruption, 1 of d major indices 4 d assessment which was coincidentally a major virtue lacking in GEJ ' administration dat culminated in d loss of d election.
D statement is a recognition Cumbria appreciation of d spirit of 'sportsmanship' displayed, tho.
