if only Buhari would start from 1996 as idiagbo commanded before he was murdered, den lets see ow u shameless man will go free 'architect of all corruption in Nigeria' . use and dump baba, those who are aggrieved of this so called free and fair election b at peace. humble Jonathan accepted it because he's political career is not worth the blood of anybody as d so called general would wish to soak all dogs and baboons in blood. I feel every head of state should leave the sit wit a good name like jerry Lawrence of Ghana which has made GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN AZIKIWE prove to d world that he's not Gbagbo nor he's godfather who was seeking for third term by all means. congratulations rev mbaka 'iro ka nulo'.....my most humble Africa and world leader kudos!!!! mama peace well done wit your illiteracy as they claimed , you were able to reach out, wit your slangs the world has heard u, truly there is God o! who sees in secret and open.

Yea I'm in Nigeria. He didn't make them. I'm 100% sure u didn't watch any of the interview videos where he was reported to make the statements. If u had, then u won't be mentioning ur 1 and 2. I guess u just read d lies so many times on nairaland and it became true in ur head. I even offered 10k on nairaland here, to anyone who could quote GMB verbatim on d statements or show me where he said it in d videos. Not a single soul could do it.

Now d lesson is that we should be more transparent n objective in political analysis. That type of mindset is needed for progress.
Peace

He hasn't been sworn in yet, YOU HAVE STARTED MAKING EXCUSES FOR HIM. Who said he didn't make those promises?? Did you watch his campaign trail?? Don't just start please....
I guess the APC propaganda machine is still very operational. I knew this would happen, we've not heard the last of it yet...Alot would hidden and swept under the carpet to cover incompetence

januzaj:
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has congratulated the Presidential candidate of the All progressives congress Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd,,) on his victory in the presidential poll, charging him to fight corruption and carry out reforms in different sectors.

The congratulatory message was made available to our correspondent at Abeokuta on Tuesday following Buhari victory in the March 28 presidential election.

Obasanjo, who noted that so much harm had already been done to many national institutions, including the military, however, advised him to be magnanimous in victory.

He said, “With so much harm already done to many national institutions including the military, which proudly nurtured you and me, you will have a lot to do on institution reform – education, healthcare, economy, security, infrastructure, power, youth employment, agri-business, oil and gas, external affairs, cohesiveness of our nation and ridding our land of corruption.

“Your varied and wide experience will undoubtedly stand you in good stead.”

The former president said the country “is blessed with men and women of goodwill, character and virtue across the board that you can mobilise to join hands with you in the reform, repairs and re-direction that will be imperative to put Nigeria back on the fast lane of good governance, unity, cohesiveness, development and progress.”

Obasanjo noted that Buhari’s victory, after three previous unsuccessful attempts, must be a great lesson to himself and for all politicians, particularly in Nigeria.

He said, “For me, the totality of 2015 elections hold many lessons for our democracy and democratisation process, which are both maturing.

“On this occasion, the system has been unnecessarily overheated before and particularly during the campaigns when emphasis was more on trivialities and hate, divisive, undignifying and disrespectful statements and comments rather than on pressing issues requiring attention.

“I know that in victory, you will be magnanimous to start binding the wounds and bitterness occasioned by the campaign and the evil disciples.”

Obasanjo does not have d spirit of sportsmanship that GEJ has.

I think we should confer on GEJ d title of "Father of a new democratic era in Nigeria".

His determination not to interfere with election process contributed so much to the success of the process.

Jega's firmness should not be forgotten, as his strong character stood head n shoulders above the shadiness of scumbag politicians.

Men of the Year;

GEJ
Jega
GMB

...in that order.
truth bro infact GEJ has used his congratulatory message to write his name in GOLD no african apart from mandela has voluntarily handed over power or congratate an opposition before results officially he just place his name where obj should be in history because of his 3rd term agenda
GEJ father of the new democracy

Just so u know, I AM NOT PARTISAN. I'm a neutral critic who only wants d progress of Nigeria regardless of who's in power. Let truth be truth and lies be lies regardless of where they're coming from. I hate lies, calumny and propaganda. That is what these politicians use to enslave u. It is even more shocking when politicians and journalists can enslave those who claim to be educated. Why can't pple just have common sense na? Why be dogmatic over political parties whereas d top members of those parties are defecting up and down?

Ok I'll prove to u he didn't make d statements.
On making naira equal to dollar, this is his actual statement in quote:
“It is sad that the value of the naira has dropped to more than N230 to one dollar; this does not speak well for the nation’s economy,’’

How does that look like making naira and dollar equal? Oh! U fell for d vanguard journalist who twisted d headline because he knew there were bigoted folks out there who'll fall for it. Don't u know d difference between a reported speech and an actual quote? Even when d thread hit nairaland here, not everyone fell for it. Some did but later realized their mistake and took back their earlier utterances while some stubborn bigots still continued to spread their ignorance anyway.

Secondly, he never said he will stabilize the global price of crude oil. This is how d interview went:

Interviewer: Let me start by asking u dis time around, d issue of d economy, d issue of d growth of d Nigerian economy has been talked about. Dwindling oil prices. How would u tackle d issue of d challenges that we're facing in our economic life considering d fact that we're reliant majorly on oil proceeds?

Buhari: I think it's absolutely necessary to make people accountable. During this discussion, we talked about d hearing conducted, about d mismanagement of d oil industry where we depend up to about 95% of our foreign earnings. I think we should do what we can to stabilise d oil market because other things that will complement our earnings like agriculture, maybe mining, will take time. The immediate one is how to stabilise d oil market and stop wastages from top to bottom so that whatever revenue is realised is judiciously applied to the economic development of the country. Without bringing discipline & accountability, I'm afraid even if d oil price goes back to good old days of over a $110 of oil per barrel, we cannot see d difference ...

But some mischievous ones quoted him as if he said he'll single-handedly stabilize d global oil price. Why? because they know most will not watch d video but will just be spreading their bias.
Did u actually watch d video? Yes or No?
Oya prove to me that he actually said d statements attributed to him. We can even bet if u like. Since u're absolutely sure of urself, just prove it n win d bet.

Errrrrmmmm...10k won't be bad for d bet abi?

Why obj didn't develop agric when he was president for 8 years, but he rebuilt his farms.
During my short stay in igboora he visited his igboora farm twice when he was the president.
