For that heroic unprecedented humbled singular congratulatory few-seconds call, Jonathan is not just a politician but also a statesman. Objectively speaking, considering the great effect that defeat-conceding phone call has on the calmness we see today across the whole Federation especially in the volatile areas, he deserves that much credit. And so, for the very first time since 2007, a Nigerian leader in the person of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan might just be winning the prestigious Mo Ibrahim Prize for African Leadership which awards a $5 million initial payment, and a $200,000 annual payment for life to African heads of state that win it. 1 Like |
