after an 8yr northern rule, you think the political parties will now field another northerner for 2023? That slot best soothes the yorubas/middle belt, with yoruba as president and MB as VP. That slot would have been the Ibos, if not that they ruined it all.

The north is the only region that stands to gain with all the hate you people are spewing.

If pdp presents a northern candidate by 2015, with an igbo vice, do you think osinbanjo has a chance?

Why do you think APC fielded a northerner? Just for their numerical strenght...I'm afraid that is the game that will always be played by the parties

Op don't mind those Judas, they are the real sinners but also cast the first stone..God Bless the Yoruba clan and Race..we even tried and still gave GEJ reasonable amount of votes from the SW,but what did their tribal sentiment brought them, they won't be having a say in the senate ranks nor House of reps..they now the MINORITIES. Bunch of hypocrites.

Lol you think the almajiris or the average abokis man on the streets care about party affiliation? It would always be tribe dear. I bet you even up till this moment most of them do not even know who osibanjo is!!!!! Your eyes go clear when the time comes
I know your dream is for the yorubas to suffer as you wish to pay them back for something they never did. Your hate for the yorubas would see you burn and. You'll still be proud of it. Or how can you explain trying to mess up the runz of the SW up by even messing up your own chances? Don't you think now is the best time to queue behind APC ahead of 2031? But you don't mind tarnishing that much awaited chance just to get even with the SW when they did you no wrong. Now, let's assume all parties field hausa/ibo candidates in 2023, after their 8yrs, do you think any party will want to field another hausa man? I believe that is your wish cos you know no party will field an Ibo candidate for presidency. You prefer to give the hausas more power and still go about crying like cursed children, calling them born to rule. Guess what? No matter how long they hold on to power, they'll never entrust it to a secessionist tribe. They'll rather go with their allies SW. I believe you don't know how much they dread the idea of a SS or SE VP. Now, you are becoming political dead cos you'll definitely be missing in this administration for alienating yourselves. I wonder how you'll be able to pull resources together to look worthy for a VP slot. The APC will infiltrate the regions they lost and win more states through the ballot or through defections. It wasn't difficult winning IMo state when they were an opposition, it won't be difficult winning anambra with their federal might. It's all about going for PDP's jugular (thesame way PDP went for AD's) and even merging those mushroom parties to themselves. When PDP gets reduced to a pinch, I wonder how a northerner will want to vote for another his fellow when his party is weak. Mind you, buhari was a huge juggernaut, that was why he was able to attain those feats without a political structure. Never underestimate federal might cos you are now about to be taught how to use it.

Yorobo have been betraying southerners from the time of Abraham

Awo betrayed the Igbos to please his slave masters, who later turned the heat on him. Northerner leaders’ve given prominent Yoruba men an overdose of humiliation that will last them a life time despite using them to fight civil war.

Did Awo die a fulfilled man? NO ……the Hausa Fulani whose interest he severed during the civil war sent him to grave. Jakande was used by IBB to rope Awo into treasonable felony …Awo later committed suicide.

Did Abiola die a fulfilled man NO , his paddy paddy IBB messed him up big time, and he was later imprisoned, chained, tortured and later poisoned to death. Some top military officers watched his Compromizing Video with Kudurat while he was in prison, what a shame!!!. Northern military officers make mockery of his heavenly feeling groans. liking it to that of a sex starved ape, that is the height of humiliation, the Compromizing Video was circulated among Hausa officers and few Igbos. Abiola’s sex heavenly feeling groans was/is still a butt of joke on Yorubas. Kudurat was later slaughtered like a sallah ram.

Shenokan was humiliated out of office like a street tout after just 80 days in office.
Diya, Adisa, Olaruwaju was humiliated and thrown out of office like chicken
The list is endless Bola Ige and others so Yorubas ve not really achieved much after betraying their fellow southerners, the Igbos ve taken over Lagos with their 20 pound, making Yorubas tenants in Lagos Yorubas are the greatest losers of all times.

we don't need anything from yeebos, they are myopic, visionless, clueless set of people. ... what they know how to do best is just to boast and claimed to be what they are not,the most populous tribe and owner of Lagos still the cannot win Lagos for Jonathan, the best Nigeria smartest tribe like they claim but unfortunately they rigged out their only son foolishly to support an ijaw, despite that they lost out the position of the senate, they developed Lagos, but funny enough the whole eastern states is erosion ridden land and nothing more than a cave. ... they are the most organised but no single leader, even animals still ve a leader in lion and they all respect him.
igbo cannot offer any meaningful thing to anyone, this is a tribe that was unable to offer their son ngige the senate president, so what can they offer any serious being. .. they ruined Jonathan political career due to their chest beating. . ...any Yoruba leaders that seek yeebos support will never have my vote again, they are a calamity that must not befall any nation that want to develop!

THIS IS A REASONABLE ARTICLE FROM A SENSIBLE ONE FROM THAT CURSED LAND.....highly sentimental, myopic, unrealistic and tribalist set of people. .... .they hate, ridiculed one of their best man of GOD....mbaka because of telling the drunkman the truth!

Engr MatazuIkeoyiboOne of the closest Igbo man to the President Elect is Dr Chris Ngige Onwa, a Senator who was defeated in the Senatorial Election.See how bad Igbos are at strategizing? They couldn't override a pathological hatred for General Buhari to make a hedge bet and return this man to the Senate, to enhance his chances at Senate President, incase General Buhari wins, which he did.Instead folks played tribal and religious politics to the tilt as drunken sailors, andfailed the man and the chance to make history as Senate President. That's what happens when emotions trips common sense and folks succumbto hustlers like Peter Obi and Arthur Eze, hustlers after their own interests instead of the masses they pretend to serve.I urged caution, I pleaded that we were making a huge mistake to hitch our wagon on Jonathan who wasn't going to win. And predictably he lost, so also our chance in the new administration.I hate to gloat. But maybe, maybe, only maybe he gets a good ministerial appointment, but nothing beats being Senate President.Igbos are very bad at politics.Fifty years after independence, we are yet to produce a president when others havetaken multiple turns. Our answer? Blame others! If you only Hausas didn't do this or Yorubas didn't do that, perhaps the god of politics will bless our lot.And sadly it won't stop until we learn to coexist with others instead of our 'better than thou' attitude when dealing with the Hausas and Yorubas. We are not better than anyone, these folks we thumb our noses at, are God's creatures like us.We don't like the Hausas and we don't like the Yorubas, yet we populate their States in search for our livelihood. Our politics should mirror our economicaspirations, not the other way around. There is no wisdom in living in the North, earning a living, yet despise the Northerners. That's being ungrateful. The gods of politics don't like that. How long can this collective amnesia insulate us from meaningfully seating at the table, making contributions to Nigeria's political evolution? How long can this foolishness go on?How long? There is a miserable silence across the land today, because we are realizing thatwe were sold off for pennies by pimps who parade as Igbo leaders.Where are they?Anyone home? The so called smart people miscalculated badly, and that's why it in the East today, there is this silence akin to a graveyard and funeral procession. How come Peter Obi who inherited Ikemba's leadership mantle did not see this day coming? No pathway to the Senate Presidency, nopathway to Speakership, both in the dustbin of crass politics.I warned folks months ago in Enugu. I told them to learn how to pronounce, Mohammadu Buhari, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.Folks wanted to lynch me when I told from all political permutations, Mr Jonathan will lose.I told them that American, Asian and Eurpean governments don't want him back in power. There was too much foreign investments in Nigeria and they don't think of him as strong enough to protect their interests.I explored a grand swell of internal opposition and still no one listened.A month later, Rev Fr Mbaka stole my thunder and said practically the same stuff I said a month before. Yet, party boot lickers countered him with assassination plots.Today who is smiling? At what costs? How my people were misled to hate General Buhari so much is beyond me.They accuse him of everything except corruption and unpatriotism. No foreign bank accounts, no foreign mansions in London and New York, no public graft. Nothing! That we don't like a leader like that is verytroubling.I hope they hear and stop being fanatical.Igbos should learn to appreciate other people and swallow our stupid pride..... isi ike anyi di too much. ...President Buhari will be a sober leader like Nelson Mandela. He will make Nigerians to love Nigeria again. Here are 10 important things he said:President Jonathan was a worthy opponent. I extend my hand of fellowshipto him. I look forward to meeting him soon, as we plan the transition from oneadministration to another. He will receivenothing but cooperation and understanding from me.This was a hard-fought contest. Emotions were high. We must not allow them to get the better of us. This is not the time for confrontation. This is a moment that we must begin to heal the wounds and work toward a better future.Today, history has been made, and change has finally come. Your votes have changed our national destiny for the good of all Nigerians. My team and I shall faithfully serve you. There shall no longer be a ruling party again: APC will be your governing party. We shall faithfully serve you. We shall never rule over the people as if they were subservient to government. Our long night has passed and the daylight of new democratic governance has broken across the land. This therefore is not a victory for one man or even one party. It is a victory for Nigeria and for all Nigerians.May the souls of those who died rest in peace. Let us take a moment of silence to honour all of those whose sacrifices have brought us to this fine and historic hour.As the results of the election have shown, their labor has not been and will never be in vain. Democracy and the rule of law will be re-established in the land.I assure you that Boko Haram will soon know the strength of our collective will and commitment to rid this nation of terror and bring back peace. We shall spare no effort until we defeat terrorism.Let us put the past, especially the recent past, behind us. We must forget our old battles and past grievances—and learn to forge ahead. I assure you that our government is one that will listen to and embrace all.I pledge myself and our in-coming administration to just and principled governance. There shall be no bias against or favouritism for any Nigerian based on ethnicity, religion, region, gender or social status. You shall be able to go to bed knowing that you are safe and that your constitutional rights remain in safe hands. You shall be able to voice your opinion without fear of reprisal or victimization.GMB acceptance speech

For God sake why will you continue to stick with a failure all in the name of tribalism and ethnic prejudice when you have option to change him for potential better option.
I don't care who is gorverning the country provided the country is moving forward ( food is on my table, infrastructures are provided, hospitals are working properly, good roads are provided) or what is the benefit of siding with my tribal or religious mate that can not provide for today and guarantee tomorrow.

Frankly, even many Yorubas don't know who he is, even Buhari couldn't remember who he was during those "rally" events

This is the realest post on Nairaland this week (even though I too mentioned it). Igbo people and their kins in the "Niger-Delta" for some reason refuse to accept that

Yes, Igbo are from 40-50 percent, but it is not there papa land. Instead of developing the East, they still go to the North and west. But there are Yoruba who also do it. Funny enough, 2 Igbo folks will be representing Lagos in the HOUSE i hear.

I think in the past, there has been a lot of mistrust (Chiefly because of the controversial positions taken by some Yoruba and Middle Belt Xtians) against the East, but a lot of progress had been made...until its time for election. In 2011 there was no reason for Yoruba to vote against GEJ, that would have totally been obviously foolish because the game was only at half-time then, but surely during injury time Tinubu substituted Amaechi and Rochas for Buhari and Osinbjjjo, and the Mallam referee awarded them penalty kick...

Senseless.

OP let me translate what's going on in terms you'll understand.

STRAP IN CAUSE THE NORTH IS GOING TO RULE NIGERIA FOREVER as long as that country remains one thanks to SW and their treacherous ways. Do you honestly think the North will allow a yoruba to rule? They own you? For where? Even Buhari couldn't even remember his running mate's name. What makes you think a common hausa man in the village will? Go watch Buhari campaign videos on youtube and tell us how many times you heard northern call Osibanjo's name while they were campaign up north?? The only place he was ever recognized by APC fans was in SW. I laugh that the north owns you. And spare us the Obasanjo voting in 2009. That election was between SW vs. SW. Even then the North barely voted compared to when their brother's ran.

What everyone is saying to SW, that you all is ascribing to hatred, is that, from now on any election where it is a yoruba vs. a northerner. Better get ready to congratulate the northern because the south and east is going to be voting for that northern. You can call it hatred, you can call it revenge or whatever you wish. All we know is that the northerners are going to be the ruler forever and we will surely make sure of that.

Congratulations Northerners.

SW is the most underdeveloped region in the entire SOUTHERN NIGERIA. WTF are you yarning about? You all try so hard to pass off Lagos as SW when we all know, aside from Lagos, the rest of SW is still stuck in a village settings. Even your cities, ex:Osohgbo(a fucking capital city) is as broken down and under-developed as the middle east battle line. Maybe develop your region before giving advice to people, who despite the cities destroyed during the war, is actually better looking than your entire region today.
