10 Reasons Why Akinwunmi Ambode Must Win Lagos State. by BANKYBOI: 9:50am On Apr 02, 2015
1. Federal Government is owing Lagos several billions of Naira. Lagos needs to be in sync with FG to get this paid.

2. All abandoned FGN buildings can be put to better use. FGN can be persuaded to embark on urban renewal and build new towns in Lagos as done in the Shagari era.

3. Lagos deserves Special Status as Economic Capital of Nigeria.

4. 70% of Nationally collected VAT is from Lagos. Yet Lagos gets no preference from FG when sharing.

5. Lagos hardly benefit from Ecological funds. Even though it needs it more than any other state.

6. The only reason why Lagos residents are not enjoying 24hrs power is because it has been in the opposition. Lagos has the capacity to build IPP for Lagosians and deliver 24hrs power in a matter of 2 yrs.

7. PDP will only reverse the trend of progress. We have seen what they can do at the FG level.

8. Federal Roads and bridges in Lagos need rehabilitation

9. All tribes are represented in Lagos and the social facilities are stretched thin.

10. Prosperity of Nigeria is tied to the prosperity of Lagos. This is Common sense politics.

This is the chance for Lagos to get what it really deserve.

VOTE AKINWUNMI AMBODE Governor Lagos State.

I urge the people of the Lagos state to vote for the APC on April 11 as Lagos will do better if it is in the same party with the Federal Government.

Lagos have been cheated of Federal Government projects like the 4th Mainland Bridge and the long-delayed light rail project.

If APC controlled both Lagos and the Federal Government, the projects would immediately take off.

People of Lagos should vote against the Peoples Democratic Party just as they did on Saturday.

Lagosians should remember that it was the PDP-led Federal Government that withheld Lagos State allocation for over 15 months and refused to release the funds even after the Supreme Court ordered the Federal Government to release the funds.

The former Accountant General of Lagos State said it was his efforts, coupled with those of former Governor Bola Tinubu, that ensured that Lagos Internally Generated Revenue grew to N20bn from N400m.

The people of Lagos will recall the way the PDP Federal Government ‘punished’ Lagos for creating the 37 Local Council Development Areas by withholding the allocation due to the state.

It was the ingenuity of the crack team of experts set up by the then Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, that led to the development of the template on which Lagos, not only survived, but expanded the IGR. The IGR has since grown from a paltry N400m to over N20bn.

The task of governance is not for wishful thinkers and verbose speakers but for thinkers, strategists and tacticians. I want to plead with the people of Lagos not to gamble with our future. This is not the time for trial and error.

The people of Lagos must continue on the path of excellence, which the APC represents. Lagosians must vote for continuity on April 11.

By the grace of God, I believe that if the people of Lagos give Ambode this opportunity, He shall serve with sincerity, integrity and all the talents the Almighty has endowed him with.

Democracy has spoken. The true heroes of this day are we the people of Nigeria. Even the incumbent couldn't withstand the wind of change the Democratic process has brought upon the people of Nigeria.

For my fellow people of Lagos, this doesn't stop there. We have to go a step further and Vote the well and truly competent Akinwunmi Ambode of the All Progressive Congress.

We need the continuity of the good governance provided to us all by the current governor Babatunde Raji Fashola and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Let us all come out on Saturday to cast our votes for the competent and the transparent governance of Akinwunmi Ambode. Eko o ni Baje.

Power of preparedness
In this history of gubernatorial politics in Lagos State, no one in my humble opinion prepared for the race as Ambode. How many of us will resign from a plum job of chief accounting of the state and go to school in preparation for a higher calling?.

Tinubu factor
Ambode’s election is another test of Tinubu’s polital sagacity. Though I am not a fan of this man because of his voracious accumulative tendency, however he won my heart with the way and manner he outsmarted all Ambode’s oppositions to get him the ticket.

The fat wallets
I have it in good authority that Ambode ran the most expensive governorship primary in the history of elections in Lagos state. All the delegates who voted in the primary election were richly rewarded in millions.

Fashola’s ambivalence
The mare fact that the incumbent governor, Babatunde Fashola had no ball to commit himself to any candidate gave Ambode a free day to maneuver his ways without any strong opposition. I find it very curious that Fashola did not have any say on the person that will succeed him.

Weak oppositions
Those who contested against Ambode are too weak in terms of having the requisite party structure, financial war chest, street credibility to offer a good fight.

Hard work
Ambode was the only aspirant that went to all local government and development area in the state to campaign. He really works very hard for the ticket. He did not to take his endorsement by Tinubu for granted. Hard work pays.

Good narration
Have you read the profile Ambode’s publicists used to sell him to Lagosians? The narration is sweet and shows that he has the capacity to take Lagos to the next level.

Conference 57 influence
Before the local government executives were dissolved by the state lawmakers, the chairmen had constituted themselves to a body called Conference 57. It was through this group that Ambode was able to have grass root foothold in the party.

Traditional rulers influence
The memory of how Oba of Lagos endorsed Ambode is still very fresh in our memories. The influence of the custodian of customs and tradition cannot be discounted in politic. Ambode has them to thank for the open support

10.   Ambode is presentable

Love him or hate him, Ambode is a delight. He is handsome, urbane, and confident. He seems to be very intelligent. Lagos will be proud to have another intelligent governor after Fashola.

So my people vote APC, that's all we've got now, we nedd Ambode to rule Lagos state.

Imagine Fashola as a Federal Minister and Ambode as the governor of Lagos. The kind of wonderful synergy this represents will be to the advantage of Lagosians.

Brother, dont get me wrong, Jimi Agbaje is someone i know right from whem the APC was still AC, that was even before ACN. He has been so credible. And I could recollect what he said when he was asked if he wasn't going to contend with Fashola for his second term, he said why should he contend with such a person, is he not doing what lagos want at the moment. That was his response, he is an experienced politician and that was why Obanikoro contended against Fashola and he lost again. If the federal gov't will not consider party rivalry, then i think GMB should work well alongside with JK for a better lagos.

The Lagos State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Akinwunmi Ambode, has urged the people of the state to vote for the APC on April 11 as Lagos will do better if it is in the same party with the Federal Government.

In a separate interview with our correspondent, the APC Publicity Secretary in Lagos State, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, said Lagos had been cheated of Federal Government projects like the 4th Mainland Bridge and the long-delayed light rail project.

He added that if APC controlled both Lagos and the Federal Government, the projects would immediately take off.

Ambode said in a statement on Wednesday that the people of Lagos should vote against the Peoples Democratic Party just as they did on Saturday.

He said Lagosians should remember that it was the PDP-led Federal Government that withheld Lagos State allocation for over 15 months and refused to release the funds even after the Supreme Court ordered the Federal Government to release the funds.

The former Accountant General of Lagos State said it was his efforts, coupled with those of former Governor Bola Tinubu, that ensured that Lagos Internally Generated Revenue grew to N20bn from N400m.

He said, “The people of Lagos will recall the way the PDP Federal Government ‘punished’ Lagos for creating the 37 Local Council Development Areas by withholding the allocation due to the state.

“It was the ingenuity of the crack team of experts, of which I was privileged to be a member, set up by the then Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, that led to the development of the template on which Lagos, not only survived, but expanded the IGR. The IGR has since grown from a paltry N400m to over N20bn.

“The task of governance is not for wishful thinkers and verbose speakers but for thinkers, strategists and tacticians. I want to plead with the people of Lagos not to gamble with our future. This is not the time for trial and error.

“The people of Lagos must continue on the path of excellence, which the APC represents. Lagosians must vote for continuity on April 11.

“By the grace of God, I believe that if the people of Lagos give me this opportunity, I shall serve with sincerity, integrity and all the talents the Almighty has endowed me with.”

We'all heard it from the horses mouth, so why don't you just take this chance to vote for progress in lagos state, he isn't joking with his words, vote for continuity my people
The best is yet to come my people

Let's support AKINWUNMI AMBODE with our votes for him to become the Governor of lagos state, that's all we need at the moment "PROGRESS"

Lagos is where I live with my family. Lagos is where I earn a living. Lagos is where I am raising my children. Lagos is my home. I have nowhere else to go but Lagos. This is why I must begin to wonder why some are contemplating voting in a failed party with a woeful record on good governance to reverse all the gains made by successive APC administrations (including previous reincarnations of the party) in the past 16 years - gains recorded despite intentional isolation policies of the Federal Government. I for one cannot experiment with my future, the future of my family or that of the State by putting it in the hands of a sinking ship which is now more preoccupied with financing its political survival than assuring good governance. I do not want the State to return to the era of insecurity, filthy neighbourhoods, poorly maintained roads and executive impunity. Rather, I am excited by the possibility of being aligned with the Federal Government to propel us to the next level of development. If I did not deem the PDP fit to govern me at the centre, then why should I bring their ineptitude closer to home? I urge Lagos residents to vote for the man backed by a team of seasoned and tested achievers. Vote APC. Vote Akinwunmi Ambode for Governor of Lagos State."

My name is Oluwafemi and I approve this message

These marauders can only circumvent the progress of Lagos. They have no idea what development is all about.
