deebsman1:issokay ...I=PRT/100..P=1,000,000 R=10.5% T=91/364(take note,I guess this is where the issue is. You said 91days nt 1yr.So u express it as a fraction of 364) therefore..I=1,000,000×10.5×91/100×364 ..this brings u to something around #26,250 ...do u get it now.. I STAND TO BE CORRECTED THOUGH....we r all learners 4 Likes |

I have a question great NL investors: N.B: pls if d question has bn answered, do kindly refer me to d page,... Tnx! HOW DOES THE MATURING VALUE FOR A PARTICULAR BID DAY AFFECT THE STOP RATE and HOW DOES IT GUIDE US AS TO RATE TO BID TO REDUCE THEINCIDENCE OF UNSUCCESSFUL BID? |

Mordyb:The CBN cannot run out of Naira just as the sea cannot run out of water. Your money will not disappear. It's risk free in that respect. However there is no guarantee that the money will still have value when you are paid back, due to inflation possibly increasing during the tenure. 3 Likes |

cee001:correct.26178.calculation is 10.5/100 X 1000,000 which equals 105000.now you will divide the amount by 365days which quals 287.6712xxx. Now you will multiply the amout by the number of days you want to invest it.since its 91days, then it becomes 91X287.6712xxx which equals #26178 as your returns |

Marpol: It's good to go by bank rate as a starter. When you place a bid lower than the stop rate, your bill won't be processed. |

Marpol:Don't get discouraged. 1. walk into the bank of ur choice or any branch of ur bank where ur money is, ask them for their current rate. They'll give u 3 offers, which will be around 91 days,182 days, 365 days at different rates can range from 9% - 15%. Could be higher depends on period. 2. write a letter addressed to the branch manager, stating ur account, the amount u wish to invest and the tenor, which is the number of days U've chosed. 3. Ur account will be debited but leaving u ur interest. which is the face value. A notification should be sent to ur email with the details. To calculate ur interest for example on N1.2 mil at a rate of 10.5% for 91days 1200000 × 10.5/100 = 126000 so u get N126000 for a period of 365 days But u went with 91 days , so... 365÷91= 4.011, I don't know how many decimal places bankers use. Then.... 126000÷4.011= 31,413.61 Ur interest on N1.2mil for 91days at 10.5% N31,413 Face value: N1.2 mil Discounted value: 1,200,000 - 31,413 = 1,168,587 N1,168,587 will be debited from ur account which implies that ur interest has been paid upfront. Bid, when u can predict what CBN rates will be. If u bid higher then u lose our and wait till the next time. It's done thru ur bank. 2 Likes |

Eisenhower: sorry, with that amount most banks will bounce you. and if at all it is accepted, the profit wont make any sense to you and wont be worth the stress of going to the bank. the more money you invest, the clearer the profit looks. 1 Like |
