cne010:okay that's been the conflict. i did a perfect engine swap. The car leaps like a cat now benefitting from the 5mt. I didn't want to get another e46, hence my reason for the swap. That was why i called it a 330ci |
Re: BMW Owners' Forum by yungboss(m): 12:27am On Mar 28, 2015 |
Coldplay007:i think N1,3m would give you a worthy example of a 330i, perhaps you could find a nice one for N900/N1m...if you buy these cars- Mercedes and BMW -make sure you get problem-free ones in order to enjoy them. 1 Like |

Abeg oo! Help me.. I got a good offer for a BMW E39 530... My initial plan was to get a E46 330i... What do y'all think about the 5 series? Will I cope? |

The E39 5 series is fairly reliable and it has more parts in he Nigerian market than even the E46. If you find a pristine 530, do not hesitate to pick it up. Good luck. P.S Uboma has a 520. 1 Like |

Went to a BMW mechanic's workshop in akure with hubby... Found them working on a 2003 E39 540i... The Akure BMW expert had to import another mechanic from Lagos.. The imported expert is said to work in Coscharis (I seriouly doubt that)... You need to hear BMW enthusiasts discussing their exploits on the wheels... I must join the club... 1 Like

Coldplay007: I schooled in Futa till 2012 and Akure really lacks good mechanics then. Hope they are catching on now. |
Re: BMW Owners' Forum by Coldplay007(f): 2:01am On Apr 04, 2015 |
cne010: Not really! I use toyota, never had to go to a mechanic for anything more than changing brake pads or servicing.. My AC parked up and the AC Kazeems in Akure showed me pepper..(story for another day).. That's Why I had to visit the BMW Mechanic in the town before I make the leap to BMW.. I wasn't really encouraged with What I saw there though.. Dude had to import a Lagos technician to fix a E39 V8 engine.. . |

Please people, what can make a car have the following ill-performances : * Tardy/Draggy acceleration or pick-up from start, necessitating need to fully depress the Accelerator & yet the response is weaker & not matching the expected output? * Losing power & speed when I get to an inclination, hilly place or a rising plane with severe struggling, needing to depress the throttle to high revs? * Suddenly becoming very freer, faster, speedy, lighter and with much power when it gets to a levelled road or a down sloping way, needing you to deploy the brake pedal. Performs then exceedingly well with good torque, throttle response & speed even at low revs level! * More fuel consumption? NB: Smooth engine-running sound is not changed by engaging/switching on the AC Idling is smooth with cool/solemn sound though dashboard/instrument panels shows idling at 500 -700 revs/min (0.5 - 0.7) & the needles hovers between these 2 values The car's 320i BMW |
