patches689: Global firepower is now out-dated. Nigeria has got 200 T-72 tanks and air to surface missile drones, plus PGM enabled Alpha jets from America and BVR missiles on F-7 jets. Balance of power has changed all over Africa .

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 3:00am On Apr 04, 2015 |
patches689: Nope, 5 different vehicles in different locations and different clour or camouflage, also different army units/regiments. SANDF has only one field surveillance Ratel. Ground radar, Nigeria has Rasit vehicle. 10 PGM armed drones is way above the ZERO that SANDF records, you have NONE. All Nigerian military arsenal is NOT yet known by public, we see them little by litte....Like the American Alpha jets able to fire PGM sold to NAF. . |

agaugust: Look at you running like a little b*tch. Which other info is missing? 7 years is still a new missile? Janes went to IDEX, manufacturers went to IDEX. Hence Janes Defence knew about the helicopter launches and your useless Wikipedia could only say "other platforms". Dont you dare even pretend to know as much as Janes Defence regarding this weapon. Again you have been caught out in a lie...simple. If you say China hasnt released all data, who gave you the balls to publicly state on here that it can be fired by land platforms? Let alone Nigerian land platforms? Damn fraud. Useless. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by patches689: 4:39am On Apr 04, 2015 |
agaugust: Who says we have only one? Project klooster equipped an entire Regiment You have only posted pictures of 3 - and then one after it has been painted. Nigerian military arsenal is well known. You only have 2 Alpha jets that can fire PGM's. The project was done by Air USA and is well documented http://www.defenceweb.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=38540:nigerian-air-force-receiving-additional-alpha-jets&catid=35:Aerospace&Itemid=107 Your missile armed drones pose no risk to us. |

agaugust: Your equipment is well documented: - 10 Streit Cougar armoured personnel carriers - 120 Poly Technologies CS/VP3 armoured personnel carriers - 10 Spartan Mk 3 armoured vehicles - 20 Inkas Light Armoured Patrol Vehicles (LAPVs) - 4 BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles - 6 RM-70 122 mm self-propelled multiple rocket launcher - 4 T-72M1 tanks - 48 Springbuck armoured personnel carriers (Police) - 4 BTR-3E APCs (Police) - 5 BTR-4 infantry fighting vehicles. - 50 light machineguns (Bulgeria) - 1 500 pistols, 2 270 light machineguns and eight mortars (Serbia) - 1 000 Beryl assault rifles - 30 AR-1 anti-tank missiles and five CASC CH-3 unmanned aerial vehicles - 3 Mi-35M/Hind Es in 2014, 6 armed Mi-171Sh transport helicopters in 2012, 6 Mi-35M combat helicopters in 2013 and 12 Mi-171Sh helicopters in 2014. Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by patches689: 4:52am On Apr 04, 2015 |
agaugust: How many? Do you now wish to compare capabilities? You are 66 years behind the SANDF is ground surveillance technology! |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by patches689: 5:05am On Apr 04, 2015 |
How SANDF is 66 years ahead of Nigeria in ground surveilance!! Ratel EAOS Other elements of the system include a portable target acquisition system for dismounted artillery observers, a target acquisition RPV, datalinks between these systems and regimental and battery fire-control posts, ballistic software that runs on IBM-compatible PCs, a gun management system, a muzzle velocity analyser, a meteorological system and a rugged computer and data communication system. This is a rebuild of an existing Ratel with its turret removed and a raised superstructure added to the rear of the driver's position. Pivoted either side of the hull is a hydraulically operated mast on top of which is a multisensor head which contains a day/night observation payload consisting of a three-in-one video camera for daytime acquisition, a long-range zoom and FLIR TV cueing, an Eloptro-developed FLIR and an Eloptro LH-31 laser range-finder with a video channel. This system provides accurate daytime observation to 20 km and night observation to 3.5 km. http://www.army-guide.com/eng/product1128.html Project Cytoon will see the gain 14 Thales Squire ground surveillance radars, 65 Thales Sophie thermal imagers, processors and communications equipment as part of a battlefield surveillance and mobile intelligence processing system. Thales Squire man-portable system, which was ordered for Cytoon, can plot a pedestrian at 10km, a vehicle at 21km, a tank at 28km, a helicopter at 21km, a boat at 12km and a ship at 48km, Thales avers. Because it uses a frequency modulated continuous wave Doppler radar, the Squire is also virtually undetectable to hostile electronic warfare experts, it adds. The Thales Sophie can spot humans at over 4km, tanks at 10km, helicopters at 12km and jet fighters at 16km, Thales says. http://www.defenceweb.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=25861:cytoon-handed-to-the-army&catid=50:Land&Itemid=105 The radar is integrated with automatic target classification facilities for persons, wheeled vehicles, tracked vehicles and helicopters, and cannot be detected by hostile electronic support measures (ESM) equipment and radar warning receivers. http://www.army-technology.com/news/newssouth-african-army-receives-new-tactical-intelligence-system

patches689: Nope, you have ONLY ONE Ratel IFV mounted battlefield surveillance TV. Come back to us when you have 5 like Nigeria....we even have more than the 5 in photos. All those radars you list there wasting your time, are short range toys....a 10 km radar is new to you? Village man. We don't need long story, radar is all about detection and range, long story of it's electronic wiring and engineering construction is none of our business. Long range ground search radar, Nigeria has mobile land and air RASIT with 40 km range. Then our Shilkas are over 30 units, their radar tracks both ground and air targets with range 20 km . Roland we have another 16 units with radar range up to 18 km . 50 radars already for Nigerian army, all mobile, all on armoured vehicles. 66 years ? SANDF and about on par in battlefield ground surveillance. Then our own mobile TVs are latest models, your are old "The ground surveillance radar DR PT 2 “Rasit” was introduced on the armoured personnel carrier. It has a maximum detection range of about 8 km for pedestrians with military equipment, to about 40 km for vehicles and helicopters. Maximum speed: approx. 90 km/h Operating range: approx. 800 km Radar coverage: to 40 km Crew: 4 Armament 1 Machine Gun 7.62 mm" http://www.radartutorial.eu/19.kartei/karte414.en.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RASIT Sorry man, I think you are confusing Nigerian army with Chad's rag tag obsolete army outdated to 1966 level. Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by saengine: 7:00am On Apr 04, 2015 |
agaugust: GTFOH with that outdated cra.p. I'm sure not one single soldier has seen that system since 30 years ago. Please don't use the phrase "world class" anywhere near the word Nigeria. What is that UAE system used for? If its used to patrol borders for smugglers and illegal immigrants, then its not for "battlefield surveillence". Why isnt that truck in a military scheme? Your mounting is of concern because your soft skin Hiluxes will be opened like a can of sardines. |
