Better Lagos - Possible! by anonimi: 4:16pm On Apr 05, 2015 |
In just six years (1954-1960) as Premier of the Western region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo transformed the region through FREE primary education and scholarships for secondary and tertiary education to our bright forebears while building Liberty stadium, WNTV-WNBS, Cocoa House, Obisesan Hall, laying the ground work for the establishment of University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo university). All these was achieved WITHOUT Niger Delta oil revenue rather mainly on cocoa revenue based on the 50/50 retention/contribution formula then. www.nairaland.com/attachments/1522997_bomadi_primary_jpeg032c5435f6e2155773054653ef75b849 In just four years (1979-1983), Alhaji Lateef Jakande transformed Lagos state by reviving Awo's FREE education policy and extending it to secondary schools with even free textbooks. He ensured PUBLIC primary and secondary schools were available for all residents of the state, running multiple shifts as necessary while RECRUITING and training teachers by setting up LACOED and other Teacher Training Institutes! In addition he established LASU, LTV, ferry services and started construction of the metro among other laudable achievements despite a shoe string budget from low crude oil price at the time. That metro project was cancelled by Buhari after his coup and locking up Jakande Many of the school blocks from over 30 years ago have not changed till today, absolutely no improvement www.nairaland.com/attachments/1964370_sku2_jpege1ebe4de4329955b7ec99f84493ba009 www.nairaland.com/attachments/1964371_sku3_jpegc43fc3a60bbe93a19044cd6322b91898 In 16 years (1999-2015) the JagbaJantis crew has been ruining Lagos state education with only 2,000 public schools today out of a total 14,000 in the state. The 12,000 private schools are largely UNSUPERVISED and not monitored. http://nigeriavillagesquare.com/forum/main-square/84093-only-2-000-schools-belong-lagos-state-government.html This ruinous record of the Thief'nubu cabal has been our lamentable lot despite: - Annual budget increased over 10 times from N42 billion in 2000 to N489.69 billion in 2015. The state budget has been consistently above N450 billion since 2011. - Annual IGR increased over 53 times from N7.2 billion in 1999 to N384.26 billion in 2013. http://businessdayonline.com/2014/09/nbs-data-show-lagos-outperforms-13-other-states-in-igr/#.VR56mNzF82E -World Bank $90 million education loan for which Fashola said no FoI in Lagos when requested how he spent the money on the 2,000 public schools. Understandably so www.nairaland.com/attachments/1875047_img2014111800173_jpeg9b1c3e1b830058e00636bea988489243 How did we proud inheritors of Awo's sterling legacy allow ourselves to be enslaved by this cabal? Why did we let our INDIVIDUAL selfishness and greed bring us so low that we are content with PRIVILEDGE crumbs from Bourdillon rather than our rights to COLLECTIVE well being? www.nairaland.com/attachments/2095087_pdplove_jpeg3545d718b9d5fbccd0fd68f28bf34ae0 3 Likes 2 Shares |

same way you were creating silly threads for jonathan and he finally lost the election is the same way you are now creating your silly propaganda thread for jimi. Anyway jimi will never ever win any governorship election. Am saying this because am on ground and I know the in and out of lagos, I know were jimi votes will come from and I know the people that will vote for him.... Believe me jimi will be very lucky to get 100,000 votes in Saturday's governorship election. Even on my street here I haven't seen one person that said he will vote for agbaje. The only two guys that are die-hard agbaje fans have all traveled home for Easter celebration and I don't think they will be back until after the elections. 7 Likes |

Unarguably tap water is one of the very basic features of modern life. For 16 years, the provision of tap water in Lagos has gotten worse in most parts of the state as more people turn to boreholes in their compounds, sometimes not far from shit-holes aka soak-away pits leading to even the elites drinking traces of their own faeces while the not so fortunate rely on mairuwas for their daily water needs. This is the situation despite some N20 billion annual budget for the Lagos State Water Corporation, LSWC. Surely we deserve better in the state of excellence. Lawmaker scores Lagos Water Corporation low www.nairaland.com/attachments/3928528_screenshot20160702074507_jpegb6ef54648b853c62b9f490825c47c180 |

What is the performance record of Thief'nuibu cabal on health care for Lagos state in the past 16 years? Beyond the paparazzi of photo-ops we know that the General Hospital in Epe, the original home constituency of Speaker Ikuforiji is in tatters and such a deplorable condition: www.nairaland.com/attachments/1441819_H3_jpg195e7c5b979e3c0c1d452e90d51ebca2 www.nairaland.com/attachments/1441826_H5_jpg64378f861b2175c385b08ef0b2ac84a7 More pictures and story: https://www.nairaland.com/1536965/deplorable-conditions-epe-general-hospital Beyond the physically deteriorating situation with many of the health facilities, the working conditions for the doctors, nurses, pharmacists, lab technicians etc is nothing to write home about hence regular strikes. However our excellent governor's reaction is to sack them and ferry his sick father abroad for treatment: ****************************************************** Since Fashola spuriously claims he sacked the doctors to protect public interest, we should ask: If the governor is to protect the people, why did he send his own father abroad for treatment? Why are the necessary medical equipment not available in Lagos hospitals since we have medical experts that can treat his father here? "Why has he resorted to the use of incompetent 'referral doctors' who are being enticed with a wage twice what they ought to have been paid if they are in regular employment? CONMESS fully, according to the Lagos NMA, would cause just additional N33.5 million monthly, compared to its looting spree to line private hands and profiteers," the statement reads in part. From: http://nigeriavillagesquare.com/forum/main-square/69955-doctors-strike-grounds-medical-services-lagos-5.html#post626236 ************************************************** Not forgetting that the JagbaJantis head of the cabal himself na to dey go obodo oyinbo each time body dey pain am small: www.nairaland.com/attachments/2156462_tinububuhari1_jpeg9446ca792e888eee9bb43fc27e5c4c6b Why should we entrust ourselves to these LOOTocrats who have failed woefully to deliver on their promise to Lagosians these past 16 years? - How many doctors, nurses, pharmacists, lab technicians, hospital administrators are recruited annually for a state whose IGR has increased over 53 times since 1999? - How many hospital beds and clinic consulting rooms plus equipment have been added despite annual budgets increased over 10 times since 2000? We deserve much better than this bunch of Smooth Criminals have provided for 16 years of mismanagement and maladministration! 1 Like 1 Share |

Today we shall be examining the light rail project for which the fine boy of Thief'nuibu cabal has received so much accolade from the "opposition" friendly media. This should probably rank among the biggest FRAUDULENT SCAM in the nation's history * Four years ago, with plenty fanfare, our gomina (governor) waka go Toronto for inspect and buy aloku scrap metal trains => Fashola visited Toronto earlier this year to inspect the TTC trains. www.nairaland.com/attachments/986954_227085_217133764973083_1665116_n_jpg748f7881e9a4a7029d746ce618b9e883 www.nairaland.com/attachments/986970_226204_217133461639780_436735_n_jpg881704f0a82d9e191193a6cb576f8d24 * In January 2013, i.e. some two years after the Toronto visit, our excellent governor said the trains will be ready by June, i.e. five months after the unsolicited statement, based on his inspection & assessment of work done so far at the time => Lagos light rail’ll be ready in June – Fashola * Last year, our fine-boy-no-pimples Misita Gomina confessed he had already spent a whopping sum of N160 billion on the light rail that was supposed to be in use since June 2013. Depending on the exchange rate he used that could be $1 billion to $1.2 billion spent How We Spent N160bn World Bank Loan on Light Rail Project As of today, we nor see train, even sef all the billion, billion $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ don disappear enter Toronto. We prayer be sey make dem nor turn around small time sey na bad business like the N8 billion Sunborn floating hotel In fact their candidate, Ambode now dey tell us sey na to restructure the financing and delivery will be in 18 months time. Laakulilai, we don suffer finish in the hands of these scam masters and smooth operators => Why I reached out to Igbo voters –Ambode, Lagos APC governorship candidate Una wey sabi financial management small go know sey the man just dey tell us sey money don finish dem must BORROW plenty $$$$$$$$$$$ loan again to have any hope whatsoever of using the trains in 18 months lohun lohun far away longest time! Can anyone reconcile the fact that the federal government approved LASG's World Bank loan for this project yet the atohunrinwa Ondo man dey spin us long tales of no federal support. He must think we are all baby pikins wey mama fit tell FAKE tory Is this the band of rogues, crooks and thieves that Oba Akiolu wants to send a whole tribe of Nigeria to the lagoon for? Why would a respected Oba call for political GENOCIDE of a people in the 21st century? For the crumbs falling off JagbaJantis of Bourdillon's table? That should not & will not be our portion, ever  Enough is Enough!!! |
