As president jonathan lose in the general election now, what will now happen to the second niger bridge?

Govt is a continuum and every body knows that bridge is imperative.

I'm sure the project will continue though possibly under re-negotiated terms if the current terms are not too favorable considering the present economic realities.

That bridge will be used by all Nigerians who have anything doing in the east and a lot of man hours will be saved from the traffic gridlock that happens frequently there.

The bridge is a PPP. JB is providing 70 per cent of the required funding while the federal government through the NSIA will provide the remaining 30 percent.
The construction of the bridge will continue till its completed and fully commercialized as stipulated in the PPP contract.

The new government must continue/build the bridge. It will be used by all Nigerans so they MUST build it.

That bridge under the Goodluck administration is going to cost Nigeria 130 billion and you say that is only 30%? Are you saying the total cost of the bridge is about 400 billion?

The FG has already paid two installments of 30billion for the construction and yet he said the government is only putting up 30%.

How much will this damn bridge cost? And on top of it all, it will be tolled

Jonathan awarded the contract for the construction of the bridge on a PPP basis, where the users of the bridge will be tolled. APC promised to build it without tolling them. The South East preferred to be tolled and voted for PDP. But APC won. Since the result was announced Ohanaeze Ndigbo was the first socio-cultural group to congratulate Buhari. Ndigbo went to the extent of saying Buhari should not forget his promise to the South East which included building the bridge. How do you reconcile both? I'm more than sure that if Buhari goes ahead, not altering the terms of the agreement with Julius Berger on the PPP basis, to construct the bridge, Ndigbo would say he hates them and has erred in his promise not to toll them.

The FG is not providing anything above 30 billion naira. The remaining 100 billion or thereabout will be provided by Julius Berger, NSIA and other private investors.
And the FG has spent only 10 billion on this bridge thus far.

What had happened to it under Jonathan?
