Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, has read the riot act to Igbo leaders and monarchs in Lagos State, warning that he will make life unbearable for them if they sabotage efforts being made to ensure that the governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, emerges as the next governor of the state. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=113029 31 Likes 6 Shares

No need for Oba to say all these. Agbaje is not winning next Saturday's election. He is expected to do well but not enough to win in Lagos. 60% - 40% in favor of Ambode. 116 Likes 2 Shares |

These Yorubas have goooooood leaders. How can somebody leave his land to come and select your leader for you? Big Ups to the Oba. Lagos has been lead by an opposition party for too long. Now there is a golden opportunity and some people from another land are trying to stop it? That's not fair. I just hope they won't report him to ICC 162 Likes 8 Shares |

Oba you don't threaten anyone to vote for your candidate there is a better way of going abt it.you are not helping Ambode by doing that. 395 Likes 11 Shares |

abduljabbar4: nobody will report anybody... they will use their pVC and show him that after God, power belongs to the people. Moreover, I don't condone violence, but I feel if this was done in person, those men should have beat him up. lol JK. 75 Likes 2 Shares |

I don't agree with d Oba, he surely doesn't have any right to force his idea of preferred candidate on the ibos. If Nigeria is truly one, he shouldn't threaten them with their places of origin 171 Likes 12 Shares |

The first law I learnt on the streets is that no matter how strong you are or how well you can fight, you do not look for trouble away from home, you can defend yourself and quickly find an escape route if need arises. 1. You do not know the nooks and crannys of a strange land. 2. If wahala start and you are outnumbered as surely you will be, how do you escape. So since these guys have more to loose in potential income and possible destruction of goods if trouble starts, it is not wise to go against your hosts in any form..it is common sense. And really the Oba has a point, can his people go across the Niger and start telling their hosts that it is no mans land...take it or leave it, it is really disrespectful and no good can come out of it. Even other Yoruba tribes that are not indegenes of Lagos know their boundaries and limitations. When Mbu came and started flexing muscles, it did not take long for him to adjust... What you can't take ,dont try to give. Also... I think my Igbo friends need to sort out this seeming identity crisis and define who they are and what they really want. Day before Yesterday, they were Gad the lost tribe of Israel who want to return to Jerusalem. Today they claim they are Lagosians in a "no man's land" and they have every right to do as they like anywhere since it is "One Nigeria". Tomorrow they want their own Biafra. Today, they are not interested in becoming president, because they are the most prosperous Nigerians and therefore have no need for political power since they have economic power. Tommorrow they claim it is their turn to be president and wonder why they are being marginalised by everybody. Wetin Una want gan gan sef ?..you need to put your acts together you are too resourceful to be this confused. 166 Likes 12 Shares |

Typing Good one from the Oba. A tribe that cant get her leaders into power should not be given the chance to destroy the opportunity of other tribes who are willing. The oba is not scared he has spoken. Take note!! He his an Oba not an Obi 110 Likes 13 Shares |

Spoken like a true King. But the Oba of Lagos must realise that this is a democracy and people are entitled to their votes. While one understands his angst, we must all flow with the dictates of democracy. I voted Buhari in the federal elections and I will be voting Ambode as governor because I believe that the state will fare better under his control. Let each vote according to his convinction. 67 Likes 5 Shares |

This is what happens when you make an egunje collecting petty police man your oba. Who is this unknown quantity? If a stewpid Akiolu wants Lagos to boil, he should go ahead and try nonsense. Touts dressed in some royal regalia. Empty threats won't fly. APC must be forced to feel the heat for all the Tinubu/fashola anti igbo policies come election day. Heavy taxes, heavy toles, deportations and intimidations in market places. Those are APCs legacies against the igbo in Lagos. It is payback time. Oba Akiolu should stop throwing tantrums and face the issues. 224 Likes 17 Shares |
