There is no such thing. Nigeria isn't (officially at least) a feudal entity deriving legitimacy from some dubious concept of divine rights.

It is in the interest of the Oba of Lagos that this matter is cleared up immediately - a confirmation, denial, clarification or retraction is necessary. Silence is not an option.

The previous Emir of Gwandu (rtd. Major Mustapha Jokolo) had a habit of making incendiary statements against the FG while he was on the throne. What eventually happened? He was deposed and exiled. The propriety of the treatment meted out to Jokolo is a debate for another day - the point I am making is that traditional rulers in Nigeria are not omnipotent. If they were, the British wouldn't have been able to overrun large swathes of what is now known as Nigeria to plant the British flag.

I can't believe some of the stupid comments am reading,an Oba threatning people to vote for a particular candidate and you are praising him?such Stupidity....am not Igbo and I'll vote Jimi Agbaje and nothing any Oba or whatever he is can do about it,we are in Democracy and in free Nigeria,we just voted out GEJ and we'll vote out APC in lagos too...CHANGE is what we need

This Oba should go and sit down jare...It was him that started the controversy for Ambode when he openly declare him as his choice and from then on we started hearing it was tinubu that picked him...That said, our igbo folks should try and reconsider their options and vote base and antecedent and capability of the candidate not on sentiment...The Oba can't tell the igbo who to vote for and our igbo folks too should stop saying lagos is no mans land...it is very disrespectful

Which truth? Threatening a particular tribe? You want o tell us that voting a particular candidate is no longer by choice? Is this the change the APC is clamouring for? What this Oba has said may end up costing his candidate the governorship election. Had it been that I reside in Lagos, I would certainly vote for Jimi Agbaje because of his threats. There is no difference between the threats of the Oba and the rants of Asari Dokubo regarding what would happen if Goodluck Jonathan was not reelected.

If we decide to vote jimi agbaje, it's our choice and not yours, remember you need the revenue that is heavily taxed on us as well . Remember that all the containers of goods that comes in, your children partake on its offloading and gets wages for it!HELL! Sometimes rival gangs fight over this.When two elephant fights, the ground suffers. As an oba, you can only plead and influence our votes by speaking to market chairmen. but do not threaten, because truly, the igbos dont give a flying fucck about you! What a billion Awolowo ,a trillion Obasanjo, and a zillion Benjamin Adekunle aka black scorpion could not archieve in their lifetime despite the support of Arewa, some niger delta tribe, Britain, Egypt, soviet union, the highly respected former DIG now Oba wants to archieve.
