How can a so called royal father stoop so low as to begin theathening people to vote for his candidate, in this case Ambode.

This, in my opinion, is the very reason that every body who can should vote against the preferred candidate of the so called Oba who has no let himself down badly with his tribalistic, and nepotistic tirade that bodes no one any good. Lagos was built by the people who live and do business there. It does not belong to him!

This is totally uncalled for. I am a true Lagosian by birth though I live outside of the country. What Oba Akinolu said is absolutely wrong. People can vote for whomever they like. That's the essence of democracy. We have a mayoral election coming up here in Chicago tomorrow and no one would be intimidated to vote for a candidate. Enough of this tribal nonsense. If other tribes do it, people will condemn it. With this kind of thinking, no wonder Nigeria is in a mess that she's in. I just listened to the audio , if the recording is genuine (and I think it is). The Oba acted like a royal goat, his utterances wa totally uncalled for and divisive .

Igbos that enjoy spitting spiteful comments at Yorubas.....what exactly do you expect when you don't respect your host?

How can a homeless man that you host tell you that your house will soon belong to him?

Igbos and Yorubas need to be careful of the words they spew.

You can't come and demand that Yorubas change the culture that has enriched their lands for generations.

Yorubas have been tolerant and welcoming. They let Igbos run for important offices. They let igbos carry high positions in Yorubaland.

But many igbos turn their face and call Yorubas "amala people", "amala politics", "ugly" etc. Yorubas still cannot enjoy the same positions in Igboland because of tribalism and hatred towards Yorubas.

I pray that many Yorubas do not keep the Oba's words in their heart because Yorubas may forgive, but they do not forget. And because they're collective, they act in groups.

If what the Oba said is true, then it was wrong for him to say that. For all our ibo brothers expressing fury on Nairaland here it is understandable. But let me ask your a two questions.
1. How many yorubas are in the House of Reps representing any constituency in the East?

2. Can your try this in the North?.

You have a right to vote. Dont let anybody scare you. But remember, gentility is not stupidity. When most of your brothers left the North before the presidential elections. You did not leave Lagos because yorubas are accommodating. Some of your brothers even won seats in House of Reps for some constituency in Lagos, something you cant dream of in the North and wouldn't allow in your place. One Nigeria forever
