Eisenhower: Let's assume the rate is 10% 25k @ 10% gives u about 2500 ÷12 = 208.3 So I don't know if u will be Happy with urself or the bank if ur paid N625 as 90 days investment. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by princeuk21(m): 4:19am On Apr 04, 2015 |
Eisenhower: My Advice. 1) the bank may not accept such amount. 2) eg. 25k×10÷100÷4= 625. (why tie such capital in this investment) ? 3) you can use the 25k to start a business that will create 1k each day as profit just do your market research very well. 4) so painful to say this but NTB is not for small capital most investors here do millions to earn thousands with 91 days tenor talk less of thousand like 25 or 30k to make how much N500 or N700 for 3 months? so my advice is save up some cash maybe 300k and you will enjoy your profit but you can start a business first. 5) you can always read from the first page to know more about this investment vehicle don't just trow your hard earn money in this investment with little or no knowledge about it believing someone may help u when things go wrong (only you can help yourself. people are always ready to play tricks on you if they know you know nothing about where you are heading to). I HOPE YOU FIND THIS ADVICE USEFUL. Am always here to assist and help you guys on the subject. Princeuk21 ![]() ![]() 4 Likes 2 Shares |

Greetings house gurus, what rates do you suggest for bidding this week? Would like to have an idea on your forecasting skill analysis. I think maybe the rates might not differ significantly from the previous one, or what do you think? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I've just registered for the treasury in fbn, but was supprised on how they debited my account and #10k+ was left in my account as the interest. so i ask, do u guys think they gave me from the ones they have? what could be the possible conversion rate that amounted to that 10k+? thanks |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by slimtriggaman: 4:50pm On Apr 06, 2015 |
Royal155: You have to inform us about the face value(amount you invested) and which tenor (30 days, 182 days or 365 days ) you chose |

slimtriggaman:I invested 300k for 91days |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Etfash(m): 9:36pm On Apr 06, 2015 |
Royal155: The rate should be 13% + that way. If there was no money in your account earlier, then the rate is fair enough in my opinion. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Nobody: 4:18am On Apr 07, 2015 |
Etfash:Wow! Anyway, they said i should come today for my receipt and certificate today. By so doing, i can be able to know what their exact rate was. If it was as u said, i'll invest another 600k for a yr. thanks dear |

With the change in power and successful election, rate will dramatically reduce. My bank is recommending I bid 13.25% for 182 days. It was around 14.50% 2 weeks ago. kennyzboy: |

Hello House !! It's been awhile,I just wanted to drop a note and wish you all a profitable bidding this week. I will watch and study the trends for now to see where it all pans out during this transition period, the rate at which the Naira appreciated to the dollar just after the announcement of the presidential elections is enough reason for me to take things easy for now and really see how it all patterns out. Stay blessed and safe, everyone 1 Like |

13.25? that's terrible...it should have dropped at 14 at least until after gubernatorial be for it dips lower than that.. 1 Like |

I absolutely agree with you. I have now put off bidding till next 2 weeks again. I doubt I want to go with 13.25% for 182 days. Pluslargent: |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Pluslargent(m): 12:52am On Apr 08, 2015 |
what makes you think it be higher in two weeks time...market indicators makes it look like down hill from here except the gubernatorials churn up a lil chaos |

Ojix85: Nice one... Hopefully the tempobwill be sustained till they mop up all the monies the outgoing presidency was sharing around. Or at least till the new govt settles in and start the much talked about fiscal squeeze. BTW.... Between GTB and FBN which bank has better yield in terms of bid experience... |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Nobody: 9:16am On Apr 09, 2015 |
hello people.... how does buying treasury bills work...and which profits most in buying bonds, stocks or treasury bills |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Seun(m): 10:59am On Apr 09, 2015 |
mctifey:treasury bills are better than fgn bonds and both are risk free. Stocks have the potential for much higher returns, but are more risky as well. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by joseph1832(m): 11:37am On Apr 09, 2015 |
Seun:So which of them is risk free?. Each time I hear stocks/bonds or anything that has to do with capital market, The global financial crises comes to my mind!. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by ernie4life(m): 11:57am On Apr 09, 2015 |
joseph1832: no investment is risk free, with stocks you stand the chance of making huge return on your investment like wise you stand the chance of loosing all your money, treasury bills and bonds have moderate risk level in that the federal government is expected under normal conditions to pay it's debt. depending on your risk appetite that's what that should guide you in your investment but it is better to diversify, that way you don't lay all your eggs in one basket |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Seun(m): 12:25pm On Apr 09, 2015 |
joseph1832:Nigeria Treasury Bills and FGN Bonds denominated in naira are risk free in the sense that the Nigerian government cannot run out of naira. 1 Like |
