Original settlers - The Epe people and the Benins. You should likewise note that the land was never and I repeat NEVER transferred back to the original settlers. The British developed its colony, expanded it, created Nigeria. Nigeria had its independence and due to military fear of retaliatory coup resettled to Abuja.
