So far APC rules in Abuja and Lagos let them stick to their Capsized ship PDP. This is why they will never produce a president in their region. Their political miscalculations and inability to forget the past is ruining their political relevance. They will need to form alliance with neighboring countries cos relying on votes from SS/SE region can never take them to Abuja..

SOUTH – EAST caucus of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Wednesday, met at the residence of the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, in Enugu and resolved to remain in opposition in the emerging new political dispensation to be piloted by the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), effective May 29, 2015.

The party’s leadership in the zone made it clear that it had no regret voting en masse for their party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
“As a zone, the South East delivered all their votes to the PDP and we are proud to do so,’’ the party said.

In attendance at the meeting were Governor of Abia State, Theodore Orji, Minister of State for Defence, Col. Augustine Akobundu (retd); Senator Hope Uzodinma, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Senator Gil Nnaji, the host, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, among others.

They, therefore, used the opportunity to thank all members of the PDP, including the governors, stakeholders and the people of the zone, for working tirelessly and voting massively for the party during the last elections and urged them to remain loyal and do the same on Saturday.

Addressing newsmen shortly after the closed door-meeting, the group’s spokesman who is also the National Vice Chairman of PDP South East, Col. Augustine Akobundu (retd), said they were resolute in remaining in the party and not contemplating defecting to other political parties.

His words:  “Everything that we need to do to deliver the goodies that our people deserve in the zone, we can bring through a very solid platform of negotiation.

‘’We voted for a party that integrated us into the mainstream of Nigerian politics, elected/appointed our people into strategic offices, and addressed some of our major infrastructural challenges. So, we took a principled position and accept full responsibility for our political choices.”

Some of these persons will soon have their position overturned at the tribunal- TA Orji, Abaribe, and Gill Nnaji. They are election riggers and dont deserve to be called senators of the federal republic of Nigeria.

I wonder whether this politicians defecting to Apc,are they normal at all,defecting for what,I tire oh,some politicians don't have shame really, I just imagine myself to be them,which face,mouth will I use in their company, knowing that I defected because we lost power,I encourage the PDP s/east caucus,that's a nice move,I think is now I can become a card carrying PDP member.

Your posts always reveal you as someone that is sentimental and narrow minded, reason why you will never see the truth. For God's sake, Kano voting strength (I mean those that actually collected PVCs) is more than 4 million and only about 2.1 million voted, that is about 50% of eligible voters, in contrast to Rivers recording 1.48m for GEJ and about 80% of voters turnout. In Kano state, about 1.9m voted for GMB and 200k voted for GEJ. Do you expect the abokis to drop sentiment like the SE and SS by voting against their own? GEJ got more than 200K votes in Kano and more than 100k in Katsina while GMB got only 5K in Bayelsa state and tens of thousands in each of the SS and SE states. You've just succeeded in teaching the abokis a lesson, as they now know who is more sentimental. For your information Kano is the most populous state in Nigeria and has the highest number of registered voters after Lagos. They started it, so expect block votes from the North in subsequent elections.

Why are these Igbo politicians smoking potaro. When the northerners need there party back they will take it. How difficult is it to understand that PDP is a northern party formed for the northerners by the northerners and PDP have lost because the northerners abandoned it but if you abandon your land does that mean you do not own it anymore?


APC without ACN would not exist. PDP will always remain a northern party the hausa fulanis are simply everywhere. And PDP is a party formed on a faulty premise based on the plans of the military ans it will always be a party of impunity even with its good side. I would think salvaging APGA and entering alliances with new parties like SDP in the south west and find like minded northerners will be a better way to go than PDP. But I guess you love PDP so.much and you dont want to do the political hardwork involved to build a party with clear ideologies APGA SDP . What is PDP ideology?

This will strengthen Nigeria's democracy. Good decision from my people. Let the SE/SS make the PDP our regional party and watch Nigeria. We can allow the ruling APC have one state each from the SE/SS.

Haha haha.... Ibos marginalizing themselves but keep crying marginalization from other parts of Nigeria. It always surprise me when Ibos claim they are smarter than any other tribes in Nigeria, but forgetting that Hausas whom they tagged as nonentities always benefits from any administration in power whether PDP or APC more than any other tribes in Nigeria.

What happened to APGA, the real Ojukwu's party? Until Ndigbo have more people with deep mental faculties like Rochas, Amaechi, Ngige etc who recongnise the fact that polity needs inter-tribal practice and flexibility, they will always remain outcast in Nigeria politics.

Continue a regional party and let's see how becoming President will become a reality.

Yea I support that biko remain where you are go back to look at where error came from and fix it and be ready for next opportunity rather than jumping from PDP to apc from apc maybe sdp or upn.

If Nigeria allow apc they will turn this country to one party I swear because they are nor yet please despite winning the presidency all they want is total eradication of other party and only apc remain and it can work that way.

God bless you guys. Losing election is the end of the world life goes on but for Tifnubu to annex East as he already took over West turning them to his slave let him remain in the west it's good for them.

Buhari pls do good job and be very rigid in your zero tolerance to corruption please do what Nigeria want.

PDP guys never relent mend your way and bounce back that is what make a man a real man.

More than excellent. My worry is about GEJ. He should sit with his friends, party members and manage the party well. It is not enough to avert crises and go back home and sit down. He should be at the front, strategize and keep the two ie the east and the south south regions together. It is now clear the this new marriage between the north and west is a clear gang up. Therefore minority or not GEJ should stand up and support the pdp. He should not allow member to be frustrated and decamp.

It shall be well. We will remain in opposition and make sure betrayers are punished whenever Buhari is done. To do this, the SS/SE would not mind to cede the presidency to the North west, take the VP and humiliate the South western presidential candidate (Yemi Osibanjo) at the polls.

In fact, promise Kwakwanso the presidency and let him be the arrowhead and you will see how he will move his machinery and many of his loyalist back to PDP...it is mere political calculation and not a rocket science
