It's better for you to use a forwarder or some agent (never use shippyme.com), this way you won't have to pay import duty, because I bet you, duty for car parts are quite high compared to other products. I use shippyme and they are ok. Hope this helps.

I have looked ChinosXL up. In the brief perusal oof his thread, he mostly deals with lagos clients. He then passes off abuja orders to local carriers, which i really cant deal with after a very very very bad experience with them.

I noticed most of the guys on nairaland deal with U.S. Is there someone here who handles UK? Either Amazon UK or ebay UK?

I've been buying things from Amazon and have it delivered to my doorstep in Nigeria, simple,by the use of forwarding companies,I use MyUs.Com,you have to register with them, they have different memberships,I paid 10 dollars to register, they will give a virtual address, when you register with Amazon, you have to give them the address as your US address, where it will be shipped, when they receive it in MyUs.Com,they will alert you through email, meanwhile you already have your Nigerian address with them, where they will ship it for you,the beauty is you can buy from different online shops and have them package it as one for you, they start charging 1dollar per package after 1 week,if you haven't ask them to ship it by then, they charge like 49 dollars for 2 kg weight,eg,I bought a Moto g phone with accessories 38k and paid 8.5k to have it delivered, before dollar went up,cheapest is FedEx Economy, takes like 12 days, highly reliable,I stay in Kebbi and have used them up to 5 times..

I use shoptomydoor,impexworldwide,UK2me to buy things from anywhere in the world. They don't charge for registration on the website, its free.
UK2me charges 5% of value of shipment minus shipping and will insist on paying and shipping to you
impexworldwide and shoptomydoor will give you a forwarding address so you buy and the seller ships to the address and they then forward whatever to you
impexworldwide only ships from the USA and will deliver within 10days,you can ship by sea for really heavy items and save a lot of money but it will take time to reach you. Impex has offices in other parts of Nigeria bit you will pay slightly more than those in lagos
Shoptomydoor will give you an address in the USA,China and the UK and cab also help you pay and ship
Use any of them and you will get your items

I use mall for Africa for my online shopping, and reading the charges here, I think they are cheaper. Check them out at www.mallforafrica.com

Mall 4 Africa are the most useless pieces of poop ever. They call you to come for pickup and you spend an hour whilst they rummage through all the stuff looking for yours. Simple arrangement and organisation could go a long way with those people.

Please I want you to clarify how you effect payment on Amazon or eBay whenever you buy from their website? Is it that you will pay using master card directly or have to register with PayPal to effect payment of goods. Also I will appreaciate if you explain your means or steps involved in paying for your goods on those foreign website. Thanks.

With Amazon UK, I use Zenith bank naira mastercard. But when I want to pay, I pay in pounds, and the bank will deduct the naira equivalent. The exchange rate is favourable that way. If you pay Amazon in naira, the exchange rate is a bit higher.

For ebay UK, I pay with paypal. If you register for paypal through First Bank, your account is verified immediately. That's what I did, and it's reasonably effective.

Well, I haven't had that problem with them here in Abuja. I pick up at FedEx office. I sit in an air conditioned office and haven't spent more than 15 mins max.

I pick up at the office in wuse 2 and it's always a pain the butt. Maybe I'll give them one more try but chose the other office.

Mallforafrica is very reliable. I have bought spare parts on Amazon through them many times.

If for any reason they are unable to procure any item you receive a full refund. Don't listen to the naysayers.

For this thread to be useful the rates of the different shipping merchants should be stated.

You will have to open an account with Amazon, for instance,in the process you'll provide your Mastercard particulars to them,I use my Gtbank Mastercard which is Internet banking enabled,Login to your account whenever you want to place an order, select your items and then place your order and proceed to checkout, all they have to do is to debit your account using POS,your bank will alert you before hand of the impending transaction, incase you want to block such, after debiting your account, your package will then be shipped to your MyUs.Com address, you can track the whole process, choose free shipping,it takes longer but it's free, when it gets to MyUs.Com,they will alert you through email, just like with Amazon, they will already have your Mastercard details with them during your registration, once you give them the go ahead,or you can choose automatic shipping, like i said you can buy from different stores have them shipped to MyUs.Com and they will consolidate it into one package for you at no extra cost, they'll deduct the shipping charges and send the package to your Nigerian address, you have like five shipping options, depending on fastness and costs,I use FedEx Economy, which is cheapest, takes like 8 working days..once shipped you will be mailed a tracking number with which you can then track it all the way to Naija..

cool. bt stating it here saves us the stress of going to each and every website just to check the price. You tell us a certain shipping company is good bt leave out the price which is a major consideration in determining if it is good.
I'll lead by example. I use www.hontglobal.com. pricing is simple! 4$ per 1pound(0.45kg). They ship every friday
that means your goods have to reach them by Thursday.
