gbosaa:Well, i guess you don't know that even God respects Kings...The Oba is a king...Obasanjo, Gej and Buhari will come and Go and the King remains...albeit, Lagos is smaller than Nigeria, but he is the King of Lagos, as the Queen of England has been on her throne since before you were born and her legacy lives, so also the King of Lagos legacy lives...With all the Ezes in iboland and Lagos ...you ought to know this, but you guys are either disrespectful/ just like to be stubborn, but you need to be educated. 2 Likes |

It was developed by all nigerians, so lets stop making noise, and learn to respect the owners of the land. 3 Likes |

"Igbo immigrant resident community in the Yoruba kingdom of Lagos in Southwestern Nigeria." This type of statements can only come from people who have not come to terms with the fact that Nigeria operates a constitutional democracy, where everyone is first a Nigerian before being an Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba. To imagine that this is coming from people who claim to be educated, beats the imagination. Which kingdom are these dreamers talking about? Who are the immigrant resident community they are talking about? The Yoruba from Kara, Ogun, Oyo and Osun states do not have more claims to Lagos than others from Anambra, IMO, Kano, Kebbi etc. For a group of confused people to come under a hurriedly put up name, to be issuing silly comments, means that a lot of the so-called highly educated people from the southwest, urgently require legal education on the basis of our constitutional democracy, which has ensured that Lagos has over four decades, have been receiving allocations from the oil and gas earnings derived from the Niger delta. These bunch of rabble rousers should focus more of their energy into more useful ventures that will benefit them and their families, other than chasing a pipe dream that died the day, Awolowo, ken Saro-wiwa etc, decided to side with the Hausa fulani in rejecting the Aburi accord, which would have guaranteed truly self governance for the regions. Any attempt by anyone to intimidate or harass any Nigerian in Lagos, on account of ethnicity or religion, would be met with disastrous consequencies for its proponents. Awolowo spent his entire life resisting Ojukwu's quest for self determination, insisting that we must remain one, and one we have come to remain, and no amount of silly noise making by Lilly livered people, hiding in the UK, us, and other foreign countries will change the status quo. Come to think about it, GEJ organized a confab, whose implementation would have ensured full fiscal federalism for the federating units, but your new Awolowo, Thiefnnubu, behaved true to type, by siding with the Hausa/Fulani, who remain the perennial neo-colonial masters of the southwest region, to scuttle any chance of the confab report being implemented. Yet, a group of clowns are bandying together under a funny name, to be spewing trash. A word is enough for the wise. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Was Lagos a village before it became a capital? Lagos was already economically viable before they made it a capital, thanks to the Yorubas there. Igbos moved to Lagos not because it was a capital, but because it was a thriving and peaceful Yorubaland. All of Nigeria is developed with oil money. Yet Anambra is still Igboland, right? These Yoruba ppl are so selfish and pompous! If not that Lagos was once the capital of Nigeria, It would have been a local minor state like every other state in this country!! This discrimination towards Igbo people by yorubas is getting out of hand! for starters, why on earth should that useless oba threaten igbos in Lagos?? Are we not free to vote whoever we want?? That oba and his supporters are sent to destroy the peace of this country! What I really wanna understand is what exactly did Igbo ppl do to this man This inhumane discrimination has been going on for a long time! As long as u are a citizen of Nigeria, u have every right to settle down wherever u want in Nigeria. we don't discriminate against any tribe in igboland, so why should they? In case they didn't know, igbos also took part in developing Lagos. Igbos are the most hardworking ppl in Nigeria(and I'm not saying that bkus I'm Igbo, its the fvcking truth. just like everybody knows Yorubas like education and parties) for Pete's sake, we are the same ppl, human beings. just like someone said, tribes are just created to give power, it doesn't differentiate u from others. No right thinking person should support what the Oba said but I think the igbos are taking this whole issue too far. I was born and raised in Kano state and I know a lot of Igbos lives and trade there. My question is, if the Emir of Kano should make an utterance like this, cam the igbos react towards it like this? I spent 5 years in the east and I can swear the igbos won't accept the yoruba's just like the Lagos state govt have done. Everyone agreed the utterance from the oba is uncalled for but I am really getting pissed off with the way the igbos are going about it. Try the same in the north and we all know what would have happen to you guys by now. |

I'm glad the Oba's even made this assertion because it really made my Yoruba colleagues to show me the kind of deep hatred Yorubas have for Igbos. They told me gladly at the office that they were elated that the Oba made that statement; they also said that no "real" Yoruba person will ever reprimand or reproach the Oba for what he said. I was flabbergasted when they were all saying all these. These Yorubas are the people I have worked for years and loved thinking they also "loved" me back. The truth is bitter. Yorubas blatantly hates Igbos. I'm begging their so called "elites" to plead on our behalf so that the Federal government of Nigeria will allow Igbos to seceede. PLEASE! BIKONU! 2 Likes |

We are talking about respect been reciprocal here. How can a very idiotic Oba attain that pedestal when youtube can view him ranting like a tout and an Adolf Hitler??..And you expect sleeping dogs to lie when the last person who incited mass murders did so on such heated moments such as this yet you expect igbos to just take it and maybe be caught unawares??As they were in 1967??....Tis is fittin igbos of this new generation aren't as docile as last and should see this as a 'second civil war' to straighten terms even destroy Lagos.. |
