Well said. If a visitor is becoming too arrogant to the person that accommodate him, definitely he will be shown his way back to where he's coming from. I don't know how a visitor will be claming too know of another's property. The best thing is to throw them out of Lagos let them go back to their land and develop their place. At the same time I can't blame them is useless PDP that want power by all means I will blame. They are the one giving them too much popularity and they will later regret it.Is it possible for any other tribe to do all this nonsense in their state?Bunch of ingrate.Lagos give you opportunity to be part of their government by appointing you commissioners, hon and other benefits but you can't think to appreciate rather to be ungrateful.Like I used to tell your ibo fellows that yorubas don't like problem but if you put us to the wall you will see hell more than what Oba Akiolu said.In term of everything in the country and around the world we senior you.Education, population, money, international connection etc we are not your mate.If it leads to war honestly speaking you will go down in history.just a little word for you!
Go and park well. what do u know? who even told u that u r more educated? browse for states with highest number of professors. Nonsense. define immigration? u go come and talk nonsense. How can someone be an immigrant in his own country? I guess ethnicity is getting over you yorubas. If u r well read, u won't talk like a fool. u talk of war and I laugh u_if war start can u fight? your useless oba said nonsense against my people and u want us to keep calm like nothing happened eeh? Our Ezes can talk like that ur Oba. u compare igbo with ur tribe.... yoruba that r not straight forward, cowards and u dare talk of war. tell ur Oba to bring it ON.

I agree

Igbos developing other people's land and leaving their's to detoriorate since 1960
What is there in their land to develop? Desert land and inanimate forests? Have you seen two criminals Kinging in the same compound? One will have to relocate for his trade to grow.
One thing for sure, the Yorubas or Hausas are not appointed into political or public offices the igbo land. If they do, then they are less than 0.001% compared to the Southwest where we allow them to contest, get appointments into public offices, etc without a care. We are liberal. They are opportunists. That explains the reasoning behind creating BIAFRA and the Niger-Delta's agitation for secession.
Our monarchs are to be respected, even though that idea is foreign to the igbo nation because they started with an egalitarian govt in the ore-colonial era.

Chill off! The only place people rant over this oba statement is online, especially on Nairaland. The mods keep pushing this particular topic to the front page just so they can get much traffic and boost their blogging business. I'm Igbo and I live among Yorubas, even my fiancee is Yoruba; out here, we joke over it. I even bought a life jacket to spice the humour. You guys should just stop making noise online
am not,i even condemned what the Oba said, but trust me some other people are blowing it out of proportion not only online.

Your paragraphs totally contradict each other. One moment you are tribalistic, the other moment you are saying we are all human beings. I am not yoruba, I'm from Delta and based in Lagos. You want to know what pained the Oba?

Igbos said they will one day produce the governor of Lagos, they even wanted to run for vice in 2015.
They called Lagos a 'no man's land' that yorubas are claiming it.
They said Lagos is nothing but a colonial settlement.

Sincerely in your God mind, answer this : Will the people in South east Nigeria take this in their state from any other tribe? Even anambra self won't take it from other igbos.

And who told you the igbos are the most hardworking? What does hardworking mean to you?
Don't you think it means something else to me?
You might prefer to carry stones and break rocks with a sledge and call it hard work while I prefer to sit down for hours doing research and creating a cure for Ebola, that could be hardwork to me.

Lagos belongs to the Yorubas first before another Nigerian. If foreigners from Cotonou and Togo come to attack people in Lagos, the Yorubas will get up first to defend their home. When they can't subdue the intruders then Nigerians will join to help them.

Igbos should just learn to be careful with their utterances as regards Lagos. What you will not allow in your own home, do not do it in another persons home.

Lagos became the capital of Nigeria, because it is Lagos, Yoruba Land and it has been a trade centre even before the british took over. I think calabar used to be a capital too, so why is calabar not like Lagos?...

Respect your host and do not cause problems with your utterances.

I repeat i will never support any igbo contesting for any political office in Lagos or outside igboland because of the reality of tribalism that bedevils our country.
But i wish to disagree with you when you say the utterances of the igbos

The no man's land statement was made by Ex governor Orji uzor Kalu in response to the BRF deportation saga so it was a response to an attack.
Again the colonial statement was just made this week in response of the Oba's attack.
Unless you justify telling every non-indigene in Lagos to become an unlooker in the face of such attacks which could breed more attacks if not for the response of the people concerned, then i would humbly disagree with some of the points you have raised.

Who is Mr Akiolu that he can not be criticised especially with that silly threats which you patronising dishonest bunch are calling jokes?

This man is oba to Lagosians, he is not the oba of Nigeria.

Obj was made fun of, caricatured and compared to apes, he laughed it off. Jonathan and his wife were abused, swore at and called as sorts of names ranging from..clueless to illiterate but heaven did not fall.

Both Obj and GEJ were president to nearly 200m citizens of Nigeria with different obas, Ezes, Emirs and other Chiefs. Heaven didn't fall when these men were turned to comic reliefs even when they haven't done anything to warrants the insults.

Can you compare your oba of Lagos to these men? This man had contributed to the reason why some police men wear flip flop on duty, torn uniform, faded shirts and rusty weapons, if he wasn't oba today, what would he be doing?

Why couldnt he act like a wise elder and control his emotions and utterances. You people respond as if there was a sort of coup de tat or conspiracy to dethrone him.

Who is oba of Lagos that people should keep quiet when he says nonsense?you threaten people with death and guys are calling it jokes? Some phhools are talking about burning properties , looting and killing as if that would solve the problem.

Why don't you people leave the Igbos alone and face your problems. Anybody looking for a fight should go to Kwara state and put an everlasting end to the incessant rampages of fulani herdsmen.
no one said he cannot be citizen or his statement was right,it is wrong and he said he was joking, must we then kill him?

True!!!

You are a proper definition of stupidity for telling Igbos to work hard to develop their states.

After your Yoruba brothers colluded with the abokis to commit their heinous crime of destroying igbo land during the war, igbo society has developed and stood upright to today's standard.

Go on and check statistics of development to compare Yorubaland to Igboland let's see which is lagging behind in development.

Lagos is Metropolitan city developed and industrialised through the collective hard work, business, tax of Igbos and other ethnic group living there.

You are also jealous and feel threatened by the presence of Igbos because you can't stand their hard work, strength and courage in any part of the world they are.

It took me alot time to go through everybody comment here.
My take on this is that we are quick to forget NOBODY I MEAN NOBODY EVER MENTION GOD IN THIS MATTER
what shame on us majority of people making comment are christians
Anyway let me start by sayin that bible made us to understand that at end time brothers will rise up against one another so pls becareful im not talking to dos who dnt bliv in God mark 4:11 its given unto u to kw d mystery of d kingdom of God but to dem dat are without all ds things are done in parables
Please my fellow ibo brodas i want u to give and forget bible says be quick to hear but slow to react
I'm yoruba so i will also beg my yoruba brodas to embrace peace wit ur fellow ibo brodas
Dnt allow this our so call leaders to divide us because of dere selfish game dey cal politics
bible says pray for d peace of jerusalem n you shal eat the good of land..
I beg my ibo brodas to stop sayin lagos is no man's land i dont know where dey got the history from pls respect d host indigenes even if dey contribute 1% of lagos community give wat belong to ceasar unto dem so dat we all hav peaceful co existentas we all kick against the oba's speech onces he has apologize accept it n move on ask ifeanyi ubah to also caution himsef to avoid so uttrances i kw he cannot allow a yoruba man to br making such comment in his home town
I'm from ondo state i think we sud hav as many ibos as dat of lagos we respect ourselves
If federal govt. are concern abt indigenization i think dey sud remove it from our constitution
They sud not allow our leader to divide us along religion, ethnic and socio background
Pls let us focus on d new govt. to assist dem move ds country forward i bliv it is not over until we win
conclysively, Lagos is some people land, cos i cant tel a gwari man in abuja dat FCT is no man's land or in kano or in kaduna or in calabar or river.
Our ibo brodas i think its time for u people to also rule Nigeria and u need either the North or Southwest to support you.You can fight the two region and claim relevance u need to either support one o d two to get dere before the middlebelt take ur place.
Pls im sorry if i sound too political cos we giv relevance to politics rather than religion people bliv too much on media and dere politicians to there pastors n reverends
God bless you all.

copying is part of business ,Government policies sharpen ideas and business .They have not been able to create a Global company with all the noise they make, even though their business model of training and then given freedom to the person trained works fine ,their attitude of dominance will affect government policies in Lagos for many years. We can depopulate does people in Lagos easily with just an injection

Ola, creating a substandard copy of a brand name is criminal and illegal. Same with piracy. That is the Igbo business model and it can never growing beyond what it is. And they don't pay taxes, that is why I want more chaos in Lagos in abaje becos their business model can only exist in a chaotic environment.

New York alone destroys billions of dollars worth of substandard products and pirated goods on canal street annually. Ever wondered why outside Nigeria, in civilized countries, most of the Nigerian owned businesses are always owned by Yorubas, followed by Edos, despite the high number of ibos there too? They know they don't have what it takes out there and their illegal activities will send them to jailed. I lived in US for ten solid years and in ibo enclaves like Houston, most of the businesses there are Yoruba owned. The same in Chicago, Maryland, and New York.

Bring sanity to Lagos Abeg to shut these goats up jare. Their noise is deafening now.
