It means you buy an account and use a data service to watch the encrypted channel.
There are many decoders with IKS functionality such as Qsat, Esat, Azsky, Speed HD S1 etc.

Thanks Emma. You seem to be very experience with this. Though, I am still confused due to the technicalities involve, however, you have been able to clear some doubts in me. I will try to do more research on IKS and revert back with more questions. I'm getting excited already. My only concern is space for the 4.5 meter dish.

Can a smaller dish do? Something like a smart dish, if available.

Laughs yes, everything is turning smart - SMART TV, SMART PHONES, SMART CARS (Mercedes has developed a car that can drive itself). So I believe a SMART dish should be created, small but powerful. If it is available please educate me. I no jack about this.

.mpeg2 is a format for coding video Tv broadcast..a satellite receiver or finder cannot determine if a signal is broadcasting on mpeg2 or mpeg4 until it scans the TP to decode mpeg2 or mpeg4...the standard for broadcast is dvbs/dvbs2!
What determines if a signal can be tracked is dvbs or dvbs2 standard for broadcast!.A dvbs2 sat finder can lock any satellite signal broadcasting on dvbs or s2.. then complies with mpeg2 or mpeg4 for video or audio decoding! to view the channel!

To answer your question,mpeg2 only sat finder can only be dvbs...it can track/lock 98% of satellite signals received in Nigeria including fringe sats TP where most of the tracking TP are dvbs/ mpeg2 broadcasts..except for eutelsat at 10east C band and 5east C band which are full of dvbs2 transponders!A dvbs sat finder can still see a dvbs2 signal..but it won't lock the transponder..at the moment dvbs/mpeg2 sat finder are still useful but don't track with dvbs2 TP!

my dvbs mpeg2 sat finder ws-6906 satlink.. I bought it for #15,000..I don't know the current prices of 6906 or ws-6922 dvbs2 mpeg4 sat finder!

Cars was an illusion as some point but now very common. If I was in the satellite business, I would be looking at this. Either talking to my chinese manufacturers (those chinese people are awesome). Regardless, I just need help with the SKY TV stuff.

With a 4.5m dish in Lagos, you can get the following fringe satellites

On 28.2 east. Sky UK channels
You will need an account to view the channels since it is scrambled. Decoder like the cloud ibox works well on it.

On 13 east (hotbird) you will get different packages here like sky italia, orange France, Nova etc.
To enjoy any of these packages, you will need a new decoder like the z950 tiger. It opens all channels under hotbird including Beinsports Max channels.

@ Boss ,just follow this direct with 4.5 m complete ku 3 layer fiber dish .Am sure u will get it in Lagos .if their is any problem ,you can call those expert installer around Lagos like Obnelly in sagamu ,badaru in lagos.

I just called the number now. The owner of the number is a nice guy and was willingly to help. I explained my challenge which is the 4.5m dish. I currently have spectranet 4g in my house and he confirmed that it is sufficient, however, I would need an IPTV decoder and a software that would upload all the SKY TV and ITV channels.

Guys, I would need more details on this. I do not want to appear selfish by using a 4.5m dish and have my estate management doing me a letter of inconveniences.

I would be very grateful if I get the assistance. As previously stated, I would not be doing the installation myself but just need some form of assurance. I also do not mind contracting it out to whoever explains to me in layman's term the materials I need, the cost involved and the benefits.
