Let me say what most of us are already thinking. From the trailer, I expected more action from the documentary. Except if the action would be in the "part 4". However, since this seems to be it, I'm just disappointed it didn't deliver on adrenaline. 1 Like |

In the interview by his colleagues, Mr. Larsen hinted that the 3 part documentary may be released as a single video. Who knows, it might contain more footage that didn't make the director's cut. |

rka1:Changes the whole narrative that PMCs in Nigeria are just trainers and advisors. Since they engage in fighting they can be called mercinaries. |

MikeCZAR: No they are not. The co-pilot in the front seat (who wasn't visible) is usually the gunner, while the pilot normally sits behind (the Ukranian that was visible). The co-pilot (Nigerian) was doing the shooting. This was only for the Hinds attached to the Stike Force. There are many other Hinds involved in the conflict flown by Nigerian crews. |

rka1:I'm talking about the PMCs. They're flying combat missions with NAF so they qualify to be called mercinaries, over the past months people have been saying "NO these guys are training and advising the Nigerian armed forces". And I'm not saying Nigerian pilots aren't flying or taking part in the ops. And we can't tell if his Ukrainian or not it is possible he can be Russian, South African etc |

MikeCZAR: I repeat for the final time not to derail this thread. All indications point to Ukraine. The last Hind that crashed killed the Nigerian pilot and Ukrainian instructor. |

rka1:I said we can't 100% sure that his Ukrainian. I quote the reporter "The private military contractors provide a technical advice to the 72nd mobile strike force in addition they provided a fully operational air wing" For argument sake someone can say: We know the 72nd was trained and is advised by South Africans, so those pilots are South African. We can be conclusive about their nationality as the are different men on the ground All I was saying is we now know some of the guys in Nigeria are mercinaries, fighting alongside the Nigerian military. |

Henry120: Pic 2: The black guy checking the 4-barrelled cannon on the Hind Gunship works for a Ukrainian company (see the badge on his left arm. That is were the Nigerian flag should have been.) Everybody is working together to achieve the same goal. The guys on the ground have been given the freedom to achieve the goals set out for them. I believe the Gazelles are flown by the SA guys. The platform is new to the NAF and these platforms were thrown straight into the fight. Overall, a great example of how peoples from different nations can come together to achieve an important goal in a short space of time. |

MikeCZAR: Using the badge, it should be fairly easy to trace the Ukrainian company. The Ukrainian company probably came with the Hind Gunships that arrived Nigeria July/Aug/Sep 2014. |

asorockweb: The MI-24V's in NAF service are proving difficult to track. It's pretty clear the MI-35M's/MI-35p's come/would come from Russia/belarus and their numbers are also recorded. However, the MI-24V's from Ukraine aren't recorded anywhere. We've now seen 3(NAF 260, 261 and 526) of them. I also know we are getting MI-17's from ukraine. I only recall seeing NAF Helicopter pilots training in Russia in late 2013. As for the gazelles, they are dirt cheap, I just hope we got at-least 24 of them. It seems they(gazelles) are for Army aviation. |

BlackBaron: https://i1.wp.com/oi60.tinypic.com/sex8w0.jpg All the gazelles and MI-35/24V Helicopters belong to us. Here is a reply i got from Sipri when i questioned the under-enumeration of NAF assets. Hello Henry, A good example of the secrecy around arms procurement in Nigeria. We only noticed the information abut the Gazelles when the database had already been closed and was ready for publication. We have no idea how many Gazelle's Nigeria has procured and where they came from. We believe they were delivered in 2015, and my best guess is that they come from Serbia or France. Both countries have plenty of Gazelles in stock. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
