NnaNna4: How do you react to messages on hell fire, especially when it's been preached in the bus? Does mentioning the consequences of sin stop people from sinning? |

That is y u hear people say "by God's grace". That is y when some1 repent they don't just come off their previous ways at once. It take the gradual work of grace for robber to see gun and turn blind eye for addict(drug, smoke, porn, alcohol) to with draw |

my dear both messages are real. they don't contradict themselves. Hell is real no doubt but Gods love for you is even more real. there is nothing telling people that hell is real but condemning people is wrong. hell is not a message so I don't believe or listen to pastors who condemn people. I believe that men change wen u express to men Gods love and grace they are changed. when u understand the grace of God my brother I mean wen u really understand Gods grace hell will not scare you. u will know that u are not perfect and he doesn't hold ur imperfection against you someone (Jesus ) has already taken care of that. I believe that pastors who preach hell drive people away from God and deprive them from his love and grace. no man can change by himself no matter how hard you try but if you go close to God through love and grace u realize that certain sins begin to fall off on their own. you will gradually begin to conform into his image and be more like him. so I believe the grace/love of God and men should be preached constantly not disputing the fact that hell is real. 1 Like |

DSuperWoman:. You're indeed a Super Woman Honestly, when I hear bus preachers preach hell and kinda intensify it... It doesn't move me. But when I hear the preaching of GRACE, the price Jesus paid, the love of the Father, the power of His resurrection, the person of Jesus... I am mostly moved to tears and it sticks longer in my heart... This reminds me: Stating your state does not change your state OR telling a sinner he is a sinner and he is going to hell doesn't change him. Show him Christ and watch what happened! Wow! |

kennygee:LOVE, MY DEAR - NOT FEAR - ELICITS WHOLEHEARTED OBEDIENCE IN HUMANS! LOVE IS THE MOST POWERFUL AND MOST ENDURING MOTIVATION FOR POSITIVE ACTION, NOT FEAR OF PUNISHMENT OR DESIRE FOR REWARD.. A SIMPLE EXAMPLE: A NURSING MOTHER FAITHFULLY AND CHEERFULLY ATTENDS HER LITTLE ONE FROM BIRTH, DAY AFTER DAY, FOR YEARS! DOES SHE DO IT TO ESCAPE SOM PUNISHMENT OR IN THE HOPES THAT THE BABY WILL REWARD HER? HARDLY! U CAN FIND SEVERAL ANALOGIES AROUND U - MARRIAGE MATES, DATING COUPLES, GROWN CHILDREN AND THEIR AGED PARENTS (WHO WILL SOON PASS AWAY)... AND SO ON. LOVE COMPELS! |

there are so many contradictory things in the Bible that am not comfortable with. let me highlight a few of them. the bible says God's mercy endures forever but sinners according to this same Bible will keep burning forever in hell. where is the mercy enduring forever. it was recorded in the bible that God brought evil upon Isreal wen David the king numbered Isreal. this story was narrated in two places in the Bible. at one place it was recorded that God moved David to number Isreal. at another place it started by saying D devil moved David to number Isreal. which one are we to believe. and if it was God that pushed David to number Isreal what's the sense in bringing evil upon the land as punishment for the numbering. is like casting a spell on ones child to go and damage the home TV then u start punishing the child again. so many times in the Bible it was said that God hardened pharaoh s heart. then punished him again for the strong heart by bringing another plague to the land. among the laws of the old testament God said " the father shall not bear the punishment for a child's offence neither shall a child bear the consequence of a father's offence. but God again said to moses when he was passing by in exodus 34 vs 6 saying" the lord the lord, merciful and gracious... vs 7 says visiting the iniquities of the fathers upon the children and upon the grand children unto the third and fourth generation. there are so many other examples but let me stop here. |

I listen to the preaching of hell fire, mind you, as it really keep me focused on heaven. But I deem the Grace of Jesus Christ a more relevant topic that should be expounded more- it always does bring the sinner to Christ. I see the preaching of Grace as a smart way of getting unbelievers from the claws of the devil. |

emusmith:Thanks, sir. By the way, l don't believe in the doctrine of hellfire. l find it to be in diametric opposition to the facts. That God, the epitome of love, will torture sinners - who live a mere 70 or 80years - forever and ever, contradicts every known judicial tenet! Too, how can belief in a god of torture make believers to cultivate kindness and compassion? Note that Muslims and 'Christians' are united in their belief in a fiery hell... But then, it's none of my business! |

emusmith: Both are essential to the message of the gospel. G-d is both of justice and of grace. Both motivates people in different ways at different times in ones' life. We need to share both equally. Share grace, however not a license to continue in 'sin'. Wages of sin is death weather in the form of hell fire or spiritual separation from G-d. |

Xiadnat: Yea, I buy the idea of you needing them at certain points of your life. E.g, a Christian who just fell for sin doesn't need to hear the topic of "hell" at the moment but on Grace. If another Christian is steadfast, and peradventure he is currently facing temptations, what he needs to be hearing is more of "Hell" messages to keep him alert and going. The work as in hand in glove right? BTW, why can't you type the word, God? #idle curiosity # |

The gospel message should be the wholesome word of God. Jesus started by preaching the salvation message. He preached the message of love ,grace, etc including the message of warning. He used different ways including the use of parables to talk about the love of God,forgiveness, provisions, heaven and hell. He did not forget to warn the adamant should they refuse to repent. He is the perfect example and the author and Finisher of our faith. prettyJoy22: 1 Like |

kennygee: I like the way u started ur comment by saying "I think"...it's what u think, not what you know.but I can tell u what I know and what the Bible teaches, the what changes men and breaks the power of sin IS NOT how much disastrous u know hell to be,but how much of God's grace and love u experience.Romans 2:1-4.what brings men to repentance is not the wrath of God but 'the goodness of God". |

Ezibless: Nooo! Hell fire was made for those that choose it. You may not believe it but I wouldn't mind to tell you that as some people are working hard to go to heaven some people are working hard to go to hell fire. It is hard to believe that some people choose hell fire but it is true that they do. Just as some people choose to be poor. Someone who chooses to be poor no matter what you do he will remain poor because he will not entertain any effort that can lead him out of poverty.. So, I think God didn't create hell fire because he wants to send someone there but he knows that some people will choose it and he made provision for it in advance. What do you choose? |

emu so u know the answer finish con they ask us question abi? take ur time oh. you're on point its good to meet a Christian leaving by grace, im tired of hearing arguments about grace around me. seeing Christians leave under the law after Christ has died. we have even added our own laws to them and replaced the place of God in our lives by the laws we have created. Christianity is now measured by the laws instead of relationship with God. if the laws we have created make us feel to unclean (by the way this feeling is a façade because Christ has taken care of it and by faith we are justified through grace) to have relationship with God, of what use is our Christianity. Christ died so that we can have one on one relationship with God, if we don't have this relationship and we claim to be Christians because we keep the laws what kind of Christians are we? my brother lemme stop here I think we understand ourselves lets just keep enjoying the sweet love of God and his abundant grace. emusmith: |
