With d proliferation of phone, tabs, ipad etc wt diff spec. & configurations these days in our market, it becomes important for an average buyer to really know what they are buying esp. at d point of purchase.

Taking Android world for example, while it is easy to quickly confirm d version of d android on a device, it is nt readily visible knowing d processor details, etc. e.g. MTK6527.... Quadcore .... 1.25hz.... etc until u later get an app like Antutu to verify d details: dat is then afta purchase.

Let d gurus in d house help out d novice.
. How would a buyer know dat an android device (esp phone & tabs) is dual core, quad core, octa core etc at d point of purchase.

. How to know d true size of d RAM & d ROM at d point of purchase? etc.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE WILL HELP & EVEN MORE WT SCREENSHOTS.

Knowing the spec of a device is not the problem, you can easily Google the name of the device. The main problem is knowing if what one is about to buy is really genuine and not a clone.

sure, wt google u hv d prior knowlegde of what to expect in d device bt some product/brand hs similar build dat u hardly diff their spec. easily e.g. Unlike Nokia, most Samsung model names are nt inscribed on d device. Example of Galaxy Duos.

If it's a new phone, the model number is always on the box. If not, it's always somewhere, maybe under the battery. Just look for the model number somewhere on the phone where you have the imei and other stuff written. Once you get the model, Google is ur friend.

As for the clone, it can be difficult these days as some cloners are really getting good at it. Some go as far as writing same model number on the phone.
Way to go is to be extremely observant. It's not gonna be easy for those that are not used to phones.
First step is to know as much as possible about the phone. If you can get the original one from a friend, study it very well.
How does it start up when you power it on?
What is the quality of the screen as you can see with ur naked eyes?
What is the memory capacity?
What version of Android does it come with?
Another part that is very helpful is the back panel when you remove the cover. For phones like i-phone and others with inbuilt battery, they are always cloned with a removable battery. I've seen iPhone 6 with Nokia battery. That alone gives them away. For others with removable battery, make sure you know what the original one looks like.
What is the size and build of the battery? Is it soft on some parts?
What is the location of the sim slot? What is the location of the msd card slot?

I think these will help you a lot to stay out of trouble b4 u have access to antutu. I am no guru, so I still expect the gurus in the house to throw more light here cos I wish to learn more.
