Removing subsidy is necessary but it has to be done within a reasonable timeframe due to sensitivity and undue hardship it may bring to the common man. They probably have to get the refineries working first then systematically remove it as promised I like the realistic power generation target as it can be easily measured year on year This is a no-brainer: "7. A very LEAN government is the focus; this will involve resolving overlapping and redundant MDAs; largely in line with the Steve Oronsaye presidential committee report; this report was available to GEJ’s government but the will to implement it was absent" 42 Likes 2 Shares |

They're now trying to use the non passage of the budget as a cover up to mask their inefficiencies. If the budget seems to be a problem, they should tell GEJ, a supplementary budget will be passed now and Buhari will pass a standard budget when he takes over. Nigerians don't have time, we can't wait till october for you start being serious. 27 Likes |

The APC will be the majority in the house in the next dispensation. So passing the budget shouldn't be that much of a bottleneck after finetuning certain grey areas. Abeg October seems like eternity to begin to see any changes. Buhari this is not what we agreed na,you promised to hit the ground running. Lately i've noticed how you've been lowering expectations with anecdotes like 'i am not a miracle worker', 'i can't promise to find the girls', 'i can't promise to end boko haram in two months' etc, etc. This is a complete turn around for someone who vowed to send down fire from heaven to cleanse the entire country and turn it into a paradise. Anyways, we'll be watching and listening with rapt attention. In any event,i still want you to do well because at the end of the day,a prosperous Nigeria will still be to the greater good of all Nigerians and by extension,Africa. 30 Likes 3 Shares |

Sweetguy25: It means the Jonathan's budget will come into law just before another government with different plans takes over. That makes it difficult for the new government to implement all their plans as they are operating under another budget. 12 Likes |

Is it not the same subsidy that jona tried to remove and there was serious demonstration against him in the north and south west. Deregulation of transmission lines should not be a priority for now, it should be left with the company that is managing it. 8 Likes 1 Share |

tbaba1234:That's what I said before. If the APC thinks the passage of the budget will scuttle their fiscal plans and strategy, they should liaise with current government and implement a transitional budget to ease off current recurrent arrears. 4 Likes |

tbaba1234:Which government? GEJs government ends in less than 2 months and the budget is yet to be passed. It makes no sense to pass a budget when your administration will not last for more than 5 weeks. What will the budget be for? You'll be be passing a budget that the succeeding government might not be able to work with. It is better that the transition committee come up with a new transition budget or Buhari passes the new budget by himself. Or better still, the APC work with the transition committee to adjust the budget to suit their revenue and expenditure plans. 9 Likes 1 Share |
