I see no reason why SE and SS should unite. These are just geopolitical zones like the NE, NC e.t.c. BTW who are we uniting against?

It's really sad, some of the tribal wars we Ve today is as a result of d greed n agitation of maybe one or two people in ages past, it's sad,n we r suffering it's cold consequences today. that's one major reason y we Ve to b extremely careful d way we handle the sentiments flooding d nation today, it's really eating deep, digging a major rift between tribes, n even villages., We may be able to handle not drifting into a cold war or fueling a divide, but the generations unborn may not be able to handle it, some may ve no understanding.
My dear, it's a fundamental problem that we will work out. It isn't a quick fix but we aim to achieve result when strategies are mapped out and implemented. I'm taking note of the feedbacks especially from members that falls within the eastern bloc. I also observe the panic of some people. Be rest assured that we won't relent in this effort to make the Eastern Region a very strong and powerful bloc.

Just to correct a particular lie in your post...
SW never loved PDP but voted for PDP in ekiti because of the person of fayose...Ondo was won by labour party; even with all PDP did to retain the state; they still voted their own party APC just like northerners have always ignored party to vote buhari since 2003.

In a nutshell, the hullabaloo about SE is to cajol, blackmail and intimidate them into accepting APC so that APC will appear more like a national party than regional party which is what it is presently irrespective of winning presidency...

So in all, SW love APC irrespective of whatever the party maybe doing to them in terms of corrupt enrichment of few and enslaving others...Even if PDP cuts off its scrotum to please SW; they will still go with APC...

So a regional party can win the presidency in Nigeria?

No need replying you properly then.

But there has to be some sort of strong opposition to check the incoming Government. besides, how are we sure that Buhari will not come to marginalise the SE/SS because he was soundly rejected in those regions?
What's SE/SS?? I know SE AND SS.

It fucking annoying hearing the SE nd SS bragging of being the region that feeds the nation with their ownn region being left out....my question is what happened to the NDDC programme and other special allocation that is giving to the oil producing states, huge sum of money wasted on amnesty.the truth is even if SS nd SE are given billions of naira everyday if th money is not well manage their region will remain a SLUM

Rubbish! The OP claimed the Mid-Western Region (which is made up of today's Delta and Edo state) was part of the defunct Eastern Region.

I hate to jump the gun but let us keep this in view.

Newly elected Senator Ben Murray-Bruce in his campaign promised to push for oil producing communities to retain half of the revenue from crude oil sales with the other half going to the center.

We need to apply pressure on our law makers in the east to tow this line regarding crude oil extracted from oil bearing communities in Rivers, Imo, Anambra, Abia and Bayelsa states.

The lingua of both Kanuri and Berom is Hausa. They were under the northern region rule for several years.

Mali and Ghana are two separate countries and have no ties except the Ecowas which even combines Nigeria with Senegal

All of kanuri and berom have their individual or native languages but seem forced to speak Hausa as genrally accepted language...Some even denouce been called hausa... a travel to some of their villages will show you that some still don't understand or speak the Hausa language at all...

Ok, let us wait and see the type of government Buhari will run. The reason I am in support of this move is in case buhari tries to run a vindictive government and box us to a corner.

If he is fair and just then all is fine.

He should build the second Niger bridge, build a seaport at Obuaka & Ibaka too. tongue tongue cheesy

I will surely not support a vindictive governance from Buhari. He must rise above politics to carry everyone along and prove to his detractors that he is detribalized than they thought.

Did he promise the second Niger bridge and the seaport?

Before now I've been against what I currently stand for due to ignorance and deception. I recall that IYC had to beg Ohanaeze for forgiveness. On that same thread, I also asked Igbos for forgiveness.

Digging old thread won't help you and won't make me relent. Read my lips, I am wiser now.

Thanks

From the response so far, it is evident that the easterners(SE and SS) on this forum welcome the idea, while some people from outside the region are doing all within them to cause discouragement. I see panic flying through the air.

Let me assure non easterners(non SE and SS) that they have nothing to fear as our unification is solely for our regional interests and not to harm anyone. We are law-abiding people and will follow every legitimate route to get what we want. Though we won't give room for blackmail and intimidation.

Sure, what they did wasn't rocket science bro...they simply merged their votes to buhari's free votes from northern Nigeria to win...And then turned now; to scream one Nigeria...

This election wasn't about any performance at all but ethnicity and tribalism...

For now, APC is still a regional party like APGA unlike PDP that has won election in every region of Nigeria...

The defunct Western Region down to the South Western geo-political zone it is known as today, tried it but didn't achieve it.
