@Jauntty: The program has featured a few of our members, including The Dex on a regular basis. @All: Read the newspapers daily if you can. Union Bank results are in todays paper and not yet on NSE website. #everylittlehelps 1 Like |

Morning quiz for all! Mr bear has 1000 units of Company X shares on 13th of April 2015. Company X has just declared a dividend of N20 per share and the mark down date for dividend payment is 22nd of April 2015. Mr bear decides to sell off his shares to Mr bull on 21st April 2015. However, the settle date for Mr bull's transaction is T+3 which is 24th April 2015. Who gets the dividend? A. Mr bear B. Mr bull c. None of them (i.e. Money goes back to company X!) 2 Likes |

SEPLAT as an Upstream oil and gas company is worth watching now for the following reasons: 1. Oil price is slowly rising on the back of increased global demand, decreased capital investment and weakening US supply. 2. Most analysts project steady increase in oil price over the next 3 years from 60-70-80$/ bbl. 3. Much pressure on the government to sign PIB into law asap - This will boost our local oil & gas companies. 4. PE ratio of approx 4, Fair dividend yield. 5. Price still in early stages of recovery from its initial slump. 6. This company is involved in an export based business and does its business in dollars. It also benefited from the devaluation. Now let me warn. There is also potential high risk of loss if the oil price plunges further down and if the Q1 results turn out bad. I have this stock in my portfolio because I am willing to take the risk having done my homework. If you decide to buy, do so at your own risk. 1 Like |
