Like everything in life,one should have a backup to mitigate the pain or loss that could be caused by any disappointment.

So,am extending this line of thinking to relationships by asking if its ok to have a back up relationship(another by the side) in addition to the main one(like a side chic for the guy or assistant bf for the ladies).

How many of such back up relationships should one have so it wont become unwieldy to manage?

why have a back up? Meaning you are unconsciously and unknowingly calling for a break-up. Most times putting all your eggs in one basket is alot safer...

you can but shouldn't. both the original and the assistant can break your heart at the same time. just learn to live independently, I.e stop having emotional dependence. if you like date 100, you heart can still be broken if you fail to shield it
