Hi guys,
This is a short description on how i install a GTA Car Kit in my lexus RX330, bear with me cause some of the pix are a bit blurred.

Place your finger tips under the wood grain panel on the gear selector and applying a light steady pressure prop the panel up and remove it.

Next place your finger behind the seat heater panel prop it out of the seating, remember to be gently in applying the pressure.

To remove this panel you need to move the gear switch selector to the L-position, this will also be required in removing the stereo unit too.

Next with your socket wrench and extension, remove the two bolts that are indicated.

A village man has cone to this thread to ask a funny question. Here's what the village man asked.
Kakameks, abeg what is GTA carkit, what does it do? No vex o, na local man I be, and na under tree for night my mallam dey teach me, anytime it rains, my mallam leaves me stranded that's why I don't know what a GTA car kit is. sad cheesy

Bros.....you know na.......anyway the kit connects mainly iphones and ipod to your stereo unit. it charges the devices as well and you can use the steering control and stereo control to select tracks, playlist and the likes. just like a virtual CD player and you can receive calls via the car speaker. for android users there is and auxiliary jack to connect android phones too.

There is also a port to add a Bluetooth adapter later on, but i dont see the need for this as the cables are ok connection between phones.

I LOVE music, especially the 70's and 80's collection (plus a few 90's) i have in my phone and some selected x-tain songs, and these i like playing while on the road.

Anyway it is good to be humble, wish i knew half as much as you do on lexus though.

by the way have you actually done a manual check on your real MPG other than what is displayed on your dash?

if not do a manual check and let me know your findings. infact i think i will make a new topic about Real MPG Check.

I think the RX 300 (99-03) has a 4-speed automatic gearbox with a 3000cc engine
the RX 330 (04 -06) and RX 350 ( 07 -09) has a 5-speed automatic gearbox with a 3300cc and 3500cc engine respectively
RX 350 (REDESIGNED 2010 to date)has a 6-speed automatic gear box with a 3500cc engine.

So your car is actually on point by stopping at 4th gear, except that your not getting to the required speed for the selected gear then you can worry about your gear.

If you feel there is still a problem, give more detail like on the 4th gear what is the max speed you get and at what RPM?

Besides if you can get to 130-140 km/h at the 4th gear, why on earth will you need a fifth gear? Na race you dey race?
and before you start looking down on your car because it has only "4 gears" note that the finial (highest) gear ratio for most URBAN cars are roughly the same, the reason why some cars has more gears is
1. To provide a smooth and seamless gear change (most cases you would not notice the gear change esp. those with double clutch)
2. To improve fuel economy by keeping your RPM as low as possible between gear change. (some cars don't go above 1500rpm before gear change for lower gears ratios 1, 2 and 3 gears)

Thanks for the enlightenment
So that's should be from 3 to 4 gear
If at the speed of 120-130 the car will be making noise the rpm will be on 5/6

Is your O/D overdrive activated or deactivated?

Actually since I discovered it if I press the O/D the ligth will show but it will not work
Secondly I just discovered this evening that if the gear wants to change it will check the body of the car motion as in vibration

DONT ever try removing your thermostat. If you do, I sorry for your lexus. Read thru your owners manual it states 5w20 full synthetic oil.

From 2007, toyota/lexus started recommending 5w20 synthetic oil for lexus.

Edited: You're right. I just checked again. Thanks for pointing it out.

P0300, 301, 303, 305 are multiple cylinder misfires. Change either the sparkplugs, coilpacks or wiring harness leading towards the coilpacks.
TIP: swap each coil pack and test.

For P0171, you have a cylinder running thin Bank 1, check your MAF and your A/F sensor bank 1.

after buying fuel yesterday evening, I drove to Federal housing Lugbe to visit a friend. This is what I saw on my RX330 digital trip computer. It got to 30 but by the time I removed my phone to take the picture again, it started to decline before I got to my destination.

My concern is if this is truely achievable considering the set mpg by Lexus. How accurate are those numbers?

Although I maintained a constant speed of 55-60 m/h. What are your thoughts on this? Has anybody got a better reading?

Did alignment on Friday. But no change. Noticed that this happens at 100 to 120. Once I exceed 120 to 140. It somehow reduces and the tingky virvibrations can br felt on the pedals.

Do you feel the vibration during acceleration or during braking?

Guy I did both wheel balancing and alignment on Friday. Mike It is on accelaration. Braking is quite smooth. I changed my discs in december.

The tyres are most prolly the culprit. If you've got cash, change them or rotate the rears to front and front to rears.
