A reminder to ignorant South Africans who feel the need to attack those who helped them in ways that can never be repaid. Never bite the fingers that fed you!

It is very funny seeing some Nigerians that saw nothing wrong in Oba of Lagos unfortunate Lagoon statement against a particular tribe condemning South Africans. It is more laughable that people are calling for boycott of everything South African in Nigeria but these people never called for boycott of anything APC for that unfortunate statement. What led to this Xenophobi attack was an uncouth statement from a Zulu monarch. This is not different from what Oba said few days ago. We all need to look within us and purgee ourselves from every atom of hate before condemning South Africans 5 Likes |

sconp: That's understandable. It's the responsibility of the South Africa state to protect all foreigners. After all, it issued visas, work permits and granted asylum as may be appropriate to almost everyone there. However, that is different from this notion that because Nigeria contributed to the anti-apartheid struggle, she deserves to be compensated. |
Re: In Case South Africans Forget! by sconp: 7:50pm On Apr 18, 2015 |
Liegeria:I guess the op wasn't referring to compensation but to the injustice meted out to those who contributed to their economy |

sconp: Perhaps we read a different comment or you are imposing your own interpretation. Reread the comment, and look also at the accompanied picture. It means one thing: "we contributed to the anti-apartheid fight, but now you are fighting us" There is nothing economical even remotely in that comment. |

barcanista: Some of you amuse me. When Nigeria sent almost 400,000 Ghanians packing in the 80s, which traditional ruler gave the hate speech? 2 Likes |

Liegeria:The issue of deportation if Ghanians was a government policy. Is doesn't equate to hate or xynophobia. In fact, it was only targeted at "illegal" immigrants then. The government never asked anyone to kill and maim. Shagari actually initiated the policy. I don't see how that relate to this. 3 Likes |

barcanista: Go and read the policy and when you are done, please explain how the policy was that of love towards them. Xenophobia is xenophobia whether sanctioned by official policy or otherwise. |

Re: In Case South Africans Forget! by UncleJudax(m): 2:10am On Apr 19, 2015 |
mikron:It was a reckless statement. It may not have led to any killings, probably because his candidate won, but it has been "set in stone" and can always be a source of inspiration for those looking to foment trouble. You see any basis yet? |

barcanista: Our internal problems and divisions will always be there to give us as a country something to slander and banter one another with. However when faced with outside threat we all should gang together as brothers and as a nation to defend strongly what we have . This Nation called Nigeria and her name. After the external threat has been defeated, of course we can always go back to our mud slinging. Especially on this Forum. |

You are very correct! The hypocrisy in Nigeria is actually amazing, and almost spiritual! When will we begin to tell each other the truth? The so-called "progressives" are ethnic champions at heart! Where was Wole Soyinka when the Oba was making his comment and glorying in it? He became tongue-tied! This silence is underlined consent and speaks volumes! barcanista: |

Kai! This generation is really daft! Where did Nigeria get $61 billion to spend on anti apartheid? This is a fake newspaper headline that any one can create on line using their headline generator. |

macjive01: Bullsh1t! Nobody is a Nigerian in Nigeria or abroad. You are first either a Yoruba, Igbo, Ijaw or Arab Hausa Fulani. Go to any nation outside which has a northerner as an ambassador and see how they openly disown non northerners in time of need. Or do you think the embassies in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Sudan carter for non Muslim needs? Yeye 1 Like |
