centje: Measuring both cities exactly at the same altitude and the most far flung outskirts, PH is just slightly bigger than Enugu. 15.57Km versus 15.17Km at their biggest diameter. See google map satellite measurement. 2 Likes

Nnewi1stSon:@Nwoke Anedo! U are a superlion? Your depth or arguments on this thread alone manifest the deep intellect characteristic of Lions and Lionesses. By the way,I cannot believe that was the school gate! When did they transform it? That must also be the gate that proceeded from Enugu-Obollo Afor-Makurdi road at the Obollo intersection? I also heard from my younger sister that same design was erected at UNEC.. Please supply more pictures. Dalu! # Econs Class of 08#Ansagoldite# 3 Likes |

spyder880:I don't think so. The first twin long white and green painted buildings in his pic should be Awolowo and Aja Nwachukwu Halls..I remember ward round things" The other edifice with a circular roof beside the white building should be the refurbished Students recreation centre which separates Bello+Eyo ita halls and the hitherto metioned Halls of residence. And of course the tree lined boulevard should be the road that proceeded from nnamdi azikiwe library to freedom square.the building with lush lawns is definitely the refurbished vc office. None of these places were transformed while I was in school but I can recognise them all from their background.meanwhile,I commend which ever regime introduced such physical transformations I saw in those pics. Commendable,I must say .those fresh roads tho.... 2 Likes |

Handsomegod: ^^^I particularly like the landscaping done, lush well-trimmed grasses and clean environment! This is how a university should look....even if it doesn't have as many million dollar structures like some other universities have! You see how a little extra tender loving care given to your environment makes it look welcoming and serene!! 6 Likes |

IGBOSON1:You write like the last time you were here was 30 years ago . Well Franco hostel's is gone, Zik's flat is no longer school property(Has been repossessed by Zik's Kids;He leased the property to the school for 50 years )... the rest is pretty much a wasteland now. |

Nnewi1stSon: ^^^It has been ages i was there last! So Ziks kids repossessed their fathers property and the place is now disused? They're stupid if they did that....why else did Zik build those buildings if not for use by the university he founded! And if FRANCO is no more, can we see pics of its replacement?....Male hostels i mean! Also, you have pics of ABUJA and the lecturers quarters areas? |

IGBOSON1:Trusr me if you were in their shoes you'd do worse. UNN has a very poor maintenance records... i'll take pictures of that place tomorrow. The boys hostel (Alvan and Eni njoku) Are no better than prison yards. Currently in one of them... I can assure you that my dog at home is more comfortable than I am right now 1 Like |

Nnewi1stSon:It's still 6 per room right? I stayed in Eni room 403, good old days. We where 12 in the room then, very uncomfortable yet very fun. Somedays(mostly Saturdays) we will argue politics, soccer or tankers all night (we use to call is vigil) . When men where boys. |

I don't consider cities like PHC and Ibadan big considering the nature of their buildings. Port Harcourt is littered with bungalows, you rarely see high rise residential layouts with high concentration of blocks of flat like you can see in most SE cities. If you visit places like Nkpor, Awada, Obosi, Woliwo and Fegge you will know why Onitsha is yet to met Awka and Nnewi. Buildings in Cities in Igboland are built vertically to save land and increase economic potential while others waste lands with bungalows and face-me-i-face-you buildings. Below is a glance of Awada layout Onitsha look like centje: 5 Likes 2 Shares

There are better houses in Enugu than in PHC. There are more blocks of flats in Enugu than in PHC, so reduce those blocks of flats to bungalows and see Enugu spill out from the city. OreMI22: 4 Likes |
