You can change ya IMEI without rooting...AT+(space)EGMR blah blah blah then send. To your second question, yes you can still use the same IMEI on ya former cell phone.

U have to root your phone before you tweak IMEI.

if u want to update, change ur imei back to normal infinix imei before u update cos during update, it, ll detect changes in ur phone and it may got brick.
