SeyiJay: Hey brother! Good to hear from you. I'm still around, but less active on here due to family, work and some "home projects" currently going down. Nice to hear you've been bitten by the Audi bug. Let me know when you're ready to get hold of your preferred model, and I'll do my very best to help. |

Hey Mr Sienna... Was looking for your older thread on Volkswagen and Audi resolution issues but since this was your latest post i felt i'll find you here.. Anyways, I've got a VW 2012 Passat 1.8 TSI. Everything about the car has been good so far but in the last 6-8 months, i've noticed that when trying to accelerate from 2nd gear, there is a jerk/stall similar to what you have when you try to move a manual geared car from start using 2nd or 3rd gear. I notice this more when i'm driving on roads where there are plenty of speed bumps. I slow down to go over the bumps and it drops to second but when i try to accelerate after going past, it jerks. If i go real slow and the gear drops down to 1st, the acceleration would be smooth without any issues. I've taken it to the Volkswagen center here and they felt it was an issue with the gear mapping... They did the "software update" but it hasn't made any difference. I'm wondering if you have any idea what could cause this since you're quite familiar with the build of these cars. Thanks |

Hi Siena, My transmission cooler line was broken in an accident. I am thinking of draining the entire transmission fluid and filling it up with a new fluid. Car is a 2001 2.4L V6 Audi A6 What are your thoughts? |

I need information on the price of windscreen for a 2007 Jetta. |
Re: Club Audi Naija And Elsewhere! by Nobody: 8:17pm On Apr 10, 2015 |
Nixon55: A transmission drain and refill is a good idea, as long as the correct Audi fluid is used. If you use any other substitute, your transmission will fail. If you do NOT intend to use the correct Audi ATF, my advice will be to leave it well alone, unless you intend to purchase a replacement tranny. Another issue is mileage. What is the current mileage of your Audi A6? When the ATF line got broken, was the transmission starved of oil for even a short period? Is the PRNDS indicator on the dash all lit up as one? |

chuksmoney: I could get you a price, but as it's glass, it would be best if you sourced a replacement locally. 1 Like |

I found some awesome drift videos on YouTube, who says AWD cars don't make good drifters? I was mainly impressed with the older Audi S2. Stock spec is as follows: Make: Audi. Model: Coupé S2. Engine configuration: 5 cylinder inline. Engine capacity: 2,226cc. Valve gear: belt driven DOHC, 20V. Aspiration: KKK-24 water cooled turbo, with external wastegate. Power: 230hp. Torque: 350Nm, with 380Nm overboost. 0-60mph: 5.7 secs. Maximum speed: 153mph. Drive: Permanent 4WD, torque sensing centre differential. Transmission: 6-speed manual. The S2 was produced from August 1991 to September 1996, and are becoming extremely. It was available as a 3-door Coupé or a 5-door estate (Avant S2). The engine is of course derived from the 5 cylinder turbo that put Audi on the map back in 1985, with the Audi quattro's dominant in Group B rallying. As the engine was developed for Motorsport, it was over-engineered, and as such was destined for road use. Group B cars had power outputs as high as 750hp in 1985, with the Pikes Peak Audi S1 the penultimate Audi Quattro. Today, the Audi S1 commands big money, with some going through specialist auction houses in Germany and the UK as high as £300,000. The Audi 5 cylinder 20V turbo is a tuner's dream, and had yielded massive power on built engines. The highest I'm aware of is 1300hp. Enjoy this drift video from ALM Racing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJFuxYsK5Y0 |

Re: Club Audi Naija And Elsewhere! by KA24DETT(m): 1:35pm On Apr 12, 2015 |
Siena: Boss i used FORD MERCON SP Transmission fluid instead of ZF transmission fluid in my 05, dont know about C4 Audis like the poster car. Saved me couple hundred dollars. Its the same fluid as the original ZF fluid. 10,000miles/1 year and counting and shifting perfectly. Had to research it though. |

Siena: Hi Siena, The Audi A6 has 120k miles on it. The PRNDS lights are not lit up. The car was towed by another sedan after the crash and it stalled on the way. They got a tow truck and took it a garage. They fixed the damaged parts and drained the ATF and filled with Audi approved ATF. What happened after they started the car was rather strange to me. The car would move by itself even though the gear is physically in Park. Could this mean changing the transmission? What are your thoughts? Thanks. |

Nixon55: Your car can be damaged with a tow like this .. THere are differentials, axles, driveshafts, transmissions, pretty much any mechanical part directly connected between your wheels and the engine For God's sake why should you tow an all wheel drive.... am very sure ur audi is the awd quattro.... Towing vehicles varries An awd should never be towed neither by raising the front tires or back, a flat bed must be used For a fwd the front can b lifted and towed Rwd u cn lift the rear and tow the ride 1 Like |
Re: Club Audi Naija And Elsewhere! by Nobody: 10:01am On Apr 19, 2015 |
Readonee35L: Lemme spoil his mood and day. If OP's Audi is a quattro and he sling towed it, he should gather money for new front and rear diff and new gearbox. Guess what? The money to buy these parts go run into hundreds of thousands and e plenty o! We never start to talk about transporting the parts or even mechanic workmanship. |
Re: Club Audi Naija And Elsewhere! by Nixon55(m): 10:36am On Apr 19, 2015 |
Readonee35L: The car is FWD and from my post you will understand that I wasn't there when it was towed. They had an accident with it and towed it based on their own understanding. The transmission would most likely be changed out. I will get it scanned and would post the codes. |

lomomike: Lol thats what am talking about earlier post... The damage of towing an awd is disastrous... I guess kazeem towed the ride.. lol Op should prepare lots of cash .... My friend took mychevrolet venture 2003 Awd LT out sometimes back .. the car had an issue and it refused to start, he towed the vehicle with all wheels on the ground from ikeja to festac, when he called me i almost fainted.. at that time i just bought my dodge charger . So frnds drive the chevy sometimes... When i saw the ride everything looked normal . The kick starter was replaced the car came on ... I was praying , while i decided to give the car a test drive At first on the dash it showed awd disabled and abs, i switched to drive and i was hearing a very loud noise from the differentials under it keeps on sounding at any speed above 8km...making a gbam gbam gbam sound I called my mech i spent lots of cash to revive the ride . Though my tranny wasnt damaged.... Even after fixing it my awd was still disabled i tried everything i could but vehicle works fine... But the car worries me alot this days ... its abandoned I only use the pilot for now |
