A man can be caring and will still be stern. A man can provide all the needs of the house and when he comes home after a day's work he tells his wife with an assertive voice to make his food let him eat. if she refuses and makes for only her son he will know the reason why or end the relationship right there. An assertive man won't carry face and ignore and stagger into the kitchen himself cos he doesn't want to offend the wife, meanwhile he is dying inside.

A father can be caring yet you won't mess with him.

If the husband above has already set certain boundaries then madam knows the house wont be comfortable if she doesn't make the meal for him but makes for her son instead.
