Is It Right To "Monitor" Your Partner? by Twaci(f): 5:56am On Apr 22, 2015 |
The topic says it all, do u think it is right to monitor your partner? By monitor, I mean; always checking his/her phone, making sure you know ALL of his/her friends, always noting every activity carried out by him/her on all their social sites (e.g Nairaland, facebook, twitter, IG...), and so on. I have my opinion on this but need to hear yours. Let's talk. Good morning. 2 Likes 4 Shares |

It's always wrong. If you feel some type of way about your partner.....discuss it or move on. Going thru phones or watching him or her gives you more headache than you deserve. 41 Likes 3 Shares |

I don't think it helps. It only fuels your anger and hatred more. Nobody is perfect and 'monitoring' will only allow your eyes to feed on your partner's secrets and flaws, which you also have. Whenever you're in doubts, call your partner and discuss as opined above. Communication helps a lot. I once monitored an ex and it became a disease. I wish I had used all those time for better things. We ended up breaking up cos I discovered lots of things that I found difficult to erase. I'm pretty sure if she had 'monitored me too, the same thing might have happened. In sum,' monitoring ' is like playing God. Start appreciating the good things in your partner and discuss things you find inconvenient. 37 Likes 3 Shares |

Why should you monitor your partner? Are you a monitoring spirit? Relationships are built on Love which encompasses so many things like trust, faithfulness, compassion, etc. While so many others would disagree on Love being key cos of our different ways of defining love, yet we all agree that Trust is the watchword. Only people who are distrustful, insecure and pessimists engage in such demeaning activities. ***Modified*** Too many comments on your new look, had to take a peep at my crush. U look so beautiful dear. @Twaci And the hair looks lovely, don't mind all this admirers. 4 Likes |

There is no rule that states whether it's wrong or right. Sometimes it's just for the good of the relationship not to bother yourself with somethings that will cause damage to it. But sometimes curiosity may get the better part of us and we'll see ourselves checking his/her phone and messages. I believe in periodic checking and asking of questions though. Don't just stay there and be left oblivious of what is going on. It may be very devastating when you finally find out. Trust me. 47 Likes 4 Shares |
