I'm with you on this. We all need to face realities; I do not see why our laws cannot allow a man marry as many women as he can care for; recently the Kenyan Government passed a polygamy bill into law; I think they did it to address the subject matter (see link below). We want to imitate Europe in everything- "one man one wife". Look around you; is it working?

There are more men than women in Nigeria. There would be more men in Nigeria not married than women unless you want to claim some dodgy statistics now. I guess focusing on women is more catchy when we talk about marriage . The economy is not viable enough for marriage so more Nigerian men than women are not getting married either.

Suitors will always come, so Nigerian women in Nigeria have a large pool of numbers to choose from. So it makes sense that it's their parents spoiling things for them and not because there's scarcity of men.

I always say it here that Nigerian parents will baby you till you or them die, especially as a female. Some people wanted to crucify one time because I advised one girl that she needs to start challenging her parents decisions when it comes to her life. This is the end result 30-40 year old girls that cannot stand up to their parents, bloody hell.

Nigerian women you need to stand up to your parents. I have already re-trained my parents ages ago.

I will not totally blame the girls here. men have it that they should have some things going for them or even flex a little before getting hooked, any girl who fall into the category of these men have a long way to go 'being girlfriend with them'. . so they(girls) would rather not waste away their biological time with guys who 'ain't ready'. after all, it is still the same gander who come around to mock the girls.. however we've seen relationships of 5-10years, what happens if such girls get dumped? they add up to the no of single women too. its not a crime to remain loyal..

I disagree with you on challenges of economy.

Girls of these days have a very wrong notion of what marriage is , they want holly wood type of wedding fanfare , emphasis for this ladies is on a glamorous wedding and not the marriage.

They fail to separate facts from fiction, they want ready made men who are established tall handsome and extremely rich.

But most of these desired guys are already married , hence the pickings are very slim.

Also a lot of young gals work and earn huge salaries, they don't accept advances from men who aren't as rich as they expect.

What dyu expect when a young girl of 23 is driving a discovery jeep, leaves in a duplex and rubs shoulders with men old enough to be her grand father, she will despise the younger men because they wont measure up to her expectation.

Its only when she reaches her product decline stage and her paint job starts failing that she discovered that she wasted her life, thats when she will start going after teenagers.
