why don't you go for better foreign host that gives you privilege to do whatever you want.

You can install any server you want, do anything without limitations. I suggest Ocean Drop. Google search it, lowest plan is $5 a month roughly #1000

Within webhosts for me, its in between whogohost and Smartweb. The latter could just shut you down for no reason. Experienced that twice.

To be very honest, the most terrible experience we got was from one Indian hosting company. We lost some clients after the incidence and even refunded some their money in a bid to keep our reputation.

So, when you want to consider a Nigerian host, which I'll always recommend especially to a newbie in the website business, please note the following.

1. Customer service. Talk to live person or email to know how quick their responses are to inquiries.
2. Testimonies: Ask in a forum like this to know how credible a particular company is.
3. Ask a friend or someone you trust to make a referral.
4. When in doubt, try with the minimum package a host offers and probably use a site that's not so serious.
5. Age of a company matters a whole lot. You can check how old a hosting company has been by simply checking the WHOIS of the website. You can do this by going to www.whois.ws.
6. Google the website hosting company's name, you'll be amazed, what you'll discover.

To OP: I was formally with whogohost....but ther server can't run my application.....immediately I port to Smartweb...the cheapest and probably the best web host in Nigeria....and my reply: web host in Nigeria only use one laptop to monitor and manage your web host....all other services are carried at the web server data center in US UK, Germany...etc. Web host is the cheapest form of business to start...I have a comprehensive manual on that, but you must be highly IT literate most especially you must be an IT security expert

i use "Somee" and "Godadday", i dont know how reliable Nigeria Hosts are.

whogohost is more than being reliable. currently I host a website with them and the have 24/7 customer support. Their Aspire hosting plan (the lowest plan) is 2500 annually. imagine the affordability.
