Gud pm house.. I av been a regular follower and i finally have my interview on Monday. But i need some quick clarifications and advices... 1.. I've read plenty times here when pple say VO asked them to pass their documents and they did.. Now my question is, do you pass ur passport, I-20 only or what else? I'll just like to know before hand. 2. I made a horrible mistake while filling my DS-160 form, i first filled B1/B2 visa and printed that, immediately i realized this i filled it again and changed it. Now the problem is this, my Comfirmation number on the appointment confirmation is coherent with that of the first DS-160 form, but it is different from the confirmation number on the correctly filled DS-160 form. so i have 2 DS-160 form printed... Please Please.. what do i do? make una no yab me too much, just advices.. thanks. cc imperiouxx Walspring Amefrica Slimmy05 and everyone with valuable inputs |

Ginger80: Yo bro! Pass your Passport, I-20, DS160 form, and appointment confirmation page (they usually arrange these at the embassy for you.) Make sure you update your appointment page with the most correctly filled DS160 Conf. no. and discard the wrongly filled one, you don't need it. You can always do that when you log in and make sure it is not less than 24hrs to your interview day before updating it. All the best! 1 Like |

Ginger80:No cause for alarm bro. Usually you do data capturing with someone across a counter before your main interview. They will ask for your passport, DS-160 form, Sevis fee receipt and the 5cm×5cm passport. After you have been called for the actual interview, you only present what the VO request for. Please don't give what you have not been asked, that will show desperation on your part. Don't be apprehensive, be sure you have all the necessary documents in case of necessity. On the part of your DS-160, you can fill as many as you want, but be sure to use the right one to book your appointment. Go with same on your interview day. Best of luck man! See you at the top. |

This is a typical graduate school preparation plan: 1. Decide on why you want to go for a Masters or doctorate degree. While considering the motivation, you should do a Cost-Benefit analysis to help you know if the amount you will spend funding yourself would be worth the returns on investment for getting an advanced degree. 2. Decide on which path you want to take. Do you want to continue with your present career or you will like to switch to a different field. Maybe you studied Electrical Engineering but you think you have a knack for advertising or broadcasting. You may want to consider a career switch. 3. Decide on where you want to specialize in your discipline. For a degree in Computer Science, do you want to do research in Big Data, Software engineering, embedded systems or Computational Biology? 4. Look for schools that offer good programs in your discipline. Sites like princetonreview, gradcafe, usnews, studentreviews would help, but using google.com and the school website is the most reliable ways to get the best places. 5. Decide on the number of schools to shortlist. 2,3,5,8,16,50,100. This involves a trade off between choice of schools/chances and cost of application. The more schools you choose, the higher your chances of gaining admission but the more money you will spend too and vice versa. 6. Prepare for and write standardized tests like GRE and the TOEFL. Many schools require these tests and they boost your candidacy for admission and maybe some funding. 7. Get Letters of Recommendation (usually three) from your undergraduate institution. 8. Write a Statement of Purpose that describes your motivation for graduate school and how graduate school will help advance your career. 9. Send your official transcripts to the schools you are applying to. Some require WES evaluation and others would allow upload of the transcripts online 10. Apply before deadline(early as soon can) and pay application fees. Also, you have to submit the requirements I listed in previous points. 10. Wait for application decision (admit or reject or wait list ). 11. Get i-20 form from school after you send your statement of account that shows that you are capable of funding your education. The funds usually covers the first year expenses including tuition, accommodation, health insurance, books. etc. 12. Go to the embassy for your interview where you will either be granted or denied a visa. Cost varies depending on the number of schools, application fees and exchange rate. Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by Walspring: 10:58pm On Apr 25, 2015 |
Ginger80: You will need to cancel your appointment interview date if you want to update the F1 version of the DS160 from the B1/B2 version.. By doing that you will start afresh, although is likely you lose your visa fee if you already cancelled appointment interview date before |
