Range Rover is an amazing SUV, durable, reliable and fuel efficient for a V8 fitted SUV.
It is expensive to maintain, though hardly develop faults. Parts are readily available but expensive to purchase, the side mirrors alone will set you back 15k+.
Let me know your budget to enable me recommend other SUV that are equally good and less expensive to maintain.

You don't know how happy I am with your positive comment, what I get from pple is " the suv is not durable, it develops fault everytime". I really want to get that particular 2003 model. From your view I think it's quite ok, irrespective of the expensive maintainance.

Go read range rover reviews online ask folks you know who own such vehicle. That vehicle is almost always having romantic moments with mechanics. The price of the side mirror na near double 15K, meaning 20K above approx.

You don't buy any modern Landrover products unless it;s under full factory warranty or you're wealth. It will simply drain you financially.

However, when new they are the best thing rolling on the road. I miss my 04 Discovery (not even an LR3). It never ever let me down but would throw the "Three Amigos" randomly.

It consumes ridiculous amount of gas, I mean like 8 to 10 mpg. I practically salivated whenever I got 12mpg from careful driving.

It's not for the timid for sure but like I said if you have the means to feed it then go for it. It is unmixed in the SUV category.

Cars like AMG, Landrover, etc you buy them regardless of what anyone thinks. They look good, feels good, etc but na only you go no where the shoe they pinch.

The OP referred to a 2003 Range Rover. But I know it being a Range Rover its gonna be expensive than 15K.

Why don't you look at the jeep wranglers and rubicons, they tend to command more interest than the range rover. The only con I can say about the range is the petrol version is a guzzler has the worst mpg rating ever. The 2002 and lower version have a good reliability when taken good care of.

Forget online review, I used the Supercharged ( www.nairaland.com/2043329/sold-2008-09-range-rover ) and didn't change a thing till I sold it except for the fairly used side mirror I got in Ladipo for just 15k when a tipper crashed the passenger side mirror.
The car inform you of any fixes or servicing when due.
The 15k I quoted is for toks mirror since Ladipo and Iyana Itire is where majority of us get parts for our repairs.

They complain of cost of running and maintenance. If any little thing goes sour, they feel dejected and downcasted. Even one of my friend who used a 2006 model had to park it in a mechanic shop this year.
Most users of these cars who don't know much about cars buy them only to abandon them to decay or sell them at ridiculously low prices in a short while.

RRS is a great car bro, most owners who complain about the car don't even bother to research or read the user manual to acquire more knowledge about the car but instead choose to follow whatever mech says. The only thing you change in that car in a long time is the battery and once that is done you are good to go.

That's the only way to own and enjoy a modern Range Rover anywhere in the world, even in UK.

Nigerians that are using or used RR and saying they are not changing a thing either didn't use them for long or they're just bending the truth, IMHO.

Althought it drives smoothly and easily but in urban areas and off road terrain, its sheer size will make you get aches and if you're not careful, you end up with destroying the bodywork of that truck. I prefer the 4Runner 4wd limited and Prado VX.

The Toyota Land Cruiser is a very good off roader. Little wonders, International organizations like WHO, FAO, Doctors without Borders, the Red Cross, etc who were initially using the Land Rover Defender in the '80s and '90s moved on to the Toyota Land Cruiser because of its proven off road capabilities. At least, Top Gear proved it that too...
